CH Kinyongia tavetana hatchlings!

Thanks everyone!!!!!

Brad, the first clutch I hatched and raised were all raised in separate containers. This time I have 15 neonates which is harder to keep all in their own enclosures:eek: The adults have their own enclosures but I only have two adults. I need to post progress on them soon though. I will be honest, of course!!!! The females of this species have been really tough but the males seem to thrive. The first clutch I hatched their is only one female left who is iffy. I had two males and four females from the first clutch. I killed 2 of those four for what ever reason. I gave one female to a friend (Todd Keller) and she is dead:( I kept three of those four and two died in my posession for unknown reasons. Even taking one to a world renouned vet when it fell sick. The males however seem to do really well. I hope to have much better luck with the females this time around though because I have had a much better hatching ratio this year than compared to the last year (6 from 11). We will see though. This species really is unappreciated in so many aspects and is also not an easy species to care for. I really hope to keep working with the dirty little, ugly effers:D to get a better understanding of them.

My male from last year who is around 14 months old is so freaking perfect it is not funny!!! I need to get some more pics of him up and also more info on my process with them as a whole. This species rivals other species that I call favorites (tenuis, uthmoelleri) even though they are not so rare and are reletively cheap as WCs. Although I know many know my losses with this species out weigh the production, I really want to be able to provide experienced knowledge on how to keep them successfully in captivity. Yes, a far fetched notion but they are so under appreciated. My 60$ tavs are probably my second favorite chams next to my rarer K. tenuis and I would not be able to give them any better care than I provide regardless if they were actually a rarer species. K. tavetana owns!!!!!!:D

2 months and 1 week old they are all starting to shed. The other clutch of 5 is doing very well too! If my calculations are correct the clutch of 5 are all females which is good because I have 6 males and 2 females from the first clutch:D

Sorry, no photos:eek: Just a quick update:)

Some not so good update photos.

Awesome pics man. That last pic of your male is great. Hes got some awesome colors. Are you going to keep all the babies or are we gonna see some of these come up for sale?

Thanks, man! You may see some up for sale. At the moment I have 2 females and 6 males from the first clutch and 5 females from the second clutch. I am keeping the females from the first clutch. If all goes well I will sell one single male and if Brad and Todd still want their pairs then I will offer the other three pairs. I wish I could keep them all but I cant!

Edit: The male is always pissed off when I take his pic or even get near him. When he is just chilling he is much lighter but I have to sneak up on him to see him chilling LOL. Definitely not a handle-able species.

Yes Jared, are you going to sell a couple? I would be happy to put down a deposit. You are just doing a phenomenal job with them, keep up the good work.

Well I happen to know that Brad still wants his pair ;)

Glad to hear you still want your pair, Brad:D The first clutch is at a decent size to where I wouldnt feel a problem with shipping them but the younger females still need some time. Dont worry, you will know as soon as I feel comfortable shipping them because I need some room!!!

Hondataeg, This set of photos are from some junky cheap digital camera.

Laurie, I still have 3 pairs unspoken for. Provided everything goes as planned:)

Thanks, Danny!

Laurie, you are definitely my woman;) Will let you know when they are ready.
