cham getting mad?

So I've mentioned a few times how my three month old Panther cham Leon is very friendly towards me, but now I don't think so. When I went into his cage he almost bit me and then later when I got him to take him outside he jumped off of me, should I leave him alone for awhile so he doesn't start to hate me orrr?

Have you researched "taming"? - if you have not you should look into it, I think it may help
I have and I hand feed him worms and crickets and he eats out of them fine but I still don't think he rly trusts me that much because I also heard a white stripe means they're angry or sad and he always has a white stripe ;(

I wish I could help but it is not something I have experience with, sorry. There was a good thread about just this kind of thing I just read tonight... And of course now I can't remember where it was, but I can tell you that the original post was very long, but super informative!! Good luck, I hope things go well for you and your cham!

aw man, but thanks anyways! I don't think I'm gonna touch my cham for a day or two and see how he acts then.

If your cham jumped off you that means you terrified him to the max... they only do this when all other options aren't available. It's like a person jumping out of a building during a fire. Some species do this more than others, panthers don't do it all that often. I'd most definitely give him space.

Lots of people misinterpret a chameleon that does not react at all or freezes with a "friendly" chameleon. They often freeze when afraid, even chameleons that are picked up in the wild.

Chameleons are pretty simple creatures. They don't develop social relationships either with their mates or with their young. Leon is never going to be friendly. He might tolerate you. He might see you and anticipate that you will bring him goodies but he really won't have any kind of an emotional attachment to you. It's just the way they are

Babies often don't respond to the stress of a new owner handling them. As they get older, they sometimes let their feelings be known.

How much are you handling him? I would suggest you back off.

You want to never appear as a predator to your chameleon. That means avoiding eye contact and minimizing grabbing him around the body.

Good luck with your baby.

omg thanks so much, I knew that they don't develop emotions I just kinda said friendly as tolerating. I wont pick him up for awhile because I've been picking him up everyday after the two week mark people say to wait. I'm still gonna hand feed him worms and maybe some crickets but I wont try and hold him, thanks so much!

I've seen it suggested on several threads to spend time in the same room with your cham but only going about your business and ignoring the cham. It was stated that this can help them get more used to you being around.

lol its summer so ive stayed in my room since I've gotten him watching tv or something, so when I wasn't trying to feed the cham or take him outside I wasn't looking at him. But I didn't know that so ill keep it in mind! Thanks.
