Didn't mean to add this again, my badI'm definitely not an expert(so don't think this is the for sure solution) but from what I've read you should have you're lights on and off for 12 hours. That could possibly be it and he's just tired. Were his eyes closed close to his lights off time. Or during the middle of the day?
I'm looking into a timed mister asapI don't see a lot fundamentally wrong with your husbandry other than the high temperature and the fairly limited misting time.
As a combination that could lead to problems so I'd say lower temp and up the mistings but if that doesn't show improvement soon I'd take him to a vet sooner rather than waiting it out.
Actually I will kindly tell you that my chameleon was was actually very different from the other chameleons on the forum, and you know that. I don't think I told you about how my chameleon got sick from not having a water bowl in his cage. @RoyBomb "Flex", please do not put a water bowl in your cage, as there are reasons in my chameleon's backstory of why he needs a water bowl, all dating back to when he was in the pet shop.I'm just gonna kindly request you to stay out of any medical topics. You have no medical knowlege, you're not helping with your posts and you are causing confusion for people that do not yet 'know' you.
I see your chameleon has found his peace, I'm sorry for your loss and I hope you don't get another at all or until you are old enough to take care of it properly. They are not toys.
Out of this post you seem to recommend a bow and at the same time you advise against it.Actually I will kindly tell you that my chameleon was was actually very different from the other chameleons on the forum, and you know that. Sorry to go off topic, but wait a second, @Remkon, you said my advice was CRAP, and you would block me?! Dude, don't do this, or else this will be like my MBD, please help thread! Remember that? When ALL of us in the thread almost got infractions?! And you know because of that thread there is a chance BOTH of us wil get INFRACTIONS. We are both making a mistake. And I told you, I will not tolerate rudeness. FYI I never said my cham was special I only said different. That's it. The chameleon had deformities. That thread was a trackload of hate replies towards me. I try to help. But then someone always comes in says it's all not true. Just because I'm the youngest on the forums doesn't mean anything. Everyone here is here to help and encourage. I have my reasoning for my advice.Out of this post you seem to recommend a bow and at the same time you advise against it.
May I remind you that your chameleon got diagnosed with MBD by many very knowledgeable and respectable members of this forum and even by the forum's vet who is specialized in chameleons.
You chose to ignore all advise and help offered and as a result your chameleon is now dead.
Instead of making up stories you should take responsibility and acknowledge your mistake, then learn from it so no more animals will suffer by your hand.
Your chameleon was not special, you messed up period.
@op, sorry for this, I will now block this kid, please don't take his advise, it's usually crap and doesn't even often make sense anyways.
I would see if you can fabricate drainage under the enclosure rather then in it.Went to my house on lunch today to check on my little guy and he was awake basking when I walked up. I know that doesn't mean much but yesterday I could literally walk up and he wouldn't notice me until he felt me right up on the cage. I gave him a really good misting and all crickets were gone from what I could tell. I hope this helps out somewhat, also I'll add a few pictures of cage with setup update, I couldn't get him as he ran off as soon as he saw the pump mister lol. Please give any and all advice. Thanks
Thanks @Andee and @Remkon I will do my best to keep in nice and healthy. What do you think of my setup? I run the humidifer at times but have cut down recently in concern of any URI? it's next to my cage on the table in the photo. I usually mist the screen outside and direct the steam inside to trap it in and release through the top of cage, does this sound ok?He probably was most likely tired. Keep your eyes on him for the next 48 hours. But my suspicion is he will be ok.
RI will only happen if you run the humidifier trough the cage for longer periods of time. I'd use it on part of the enclosure or just to up the humidity of the whole room. Thanks @Andee and @Remkon I will do my best to keep in nice and healthy. What do you think of my setup? Of topic, but what do you guys reccomend for drainage? I have a 4x2x2 reptibreeze enclosure.I use my humidifier more than I usually do lately because it's been hot lately, but I do sessions with it, not longer than 1-2 hours and I never run it into the enclosure. I agree with drainage as well very important.
I've read that luring them with worms does the trick. So maybe wait on his feeding time a little, and offer him a worm on your hand and see if he comes to you. Once he gets closers, have a stick ready so he climbs on it then just get him out. It could take a few tries but if he's hungry it'll work. Or place the worm on the stick in a distance where his tongue won't reach so he has to climb on it to eat it.Any advice on getting him out to clean his cage and setup the drainage? Also, I don't think anyone answered if it was OK he's hanging out under the plant light quite a bit? Maybe thinks it's the uvb but not sure. I set up a camera in it last night and already after eating that's where I can see him hanging out. Is this an issue?
I've tried the luring method with hornworms but he won't budge, even If I set it down and walk away he won't go for it it until his his cage door is shut. I'm not quite sure what else to do. I've read waiting longer to feed him but that's what I tried last time and nothing(11 am). Plus I don't want to feed him to late to make sure he can digest his good properly. The guy at the shop just told me to grab him out and he'll realize I'm not going to hurt him shortly after? This sounds like it'll scare him more? Idk what to do but I want to do this all this weekend as its gonna be 80 here so I can take him out on his tree to free range while I'm taking care of his setup. Any other advice would be great. Also to add, my wife will be going into labor any day now so it's kind of a bow thing.I've read that luring them with worms does the trick.
