My chameleons name is Da Vinci. I have had him since he was young and he has until a week ago been very healthy. His home is a vertical screen Cage I use recommend lighting and heating bulbs I do not believe any of his enclosure or lighting to be the cause of his problems. his illnesses came on suddenly. He showed a little weakness while being handled and the next day was found laying on the bottom of his enclosure. I contacted a reptile vet. They said he may have gotten mold intoxication from a cricket. ( Which is possible because a potato piece in the cricket cage had mold on it ) I was told to build a platform for h so he can still bask. I did that . I hand fed and watered him for a week. And took him to the vet yesterday. He said his weight is good. His hydration is good . He has strong grip strength but only sometimes. He has a little bump on his spine the vet said might be an infection. Also was breathing deeply. I received medicine for an infection to treat breathing and hopefully the lump on his spine. He is still week and see to have a hard time controlling limbs. The vet said it looks neurological. I was wondering if anyone has had this happen and how they helped their lizard get better.

She might be egg bound. Take her to a new vet. If they didn’t tell you that was a female when it clearly is then you need a new vet. Definitely get x-rays to check for eggs.
I'm sure she's eggbound or very close to it.
You need to get her to a vet ASAP. The longer it takes for you to get her there the less chance she will have of survival.
Today you need to put an egglaying bin in her cage and dig a hole for her and set her on top of it. It's not likely that she will be able to lay them but it's worth a shot.
It should be an opaque container at least 12" X 12" X 9" filled with moistened Playsand. The sand should be moist enough to hold a tunnel.
The longer you wait to do this the less chance she will have of surviving.

If she can't lay the eggs very soon (and it may already be too late) she will die. If you get her to the vets before she becomes too weak to survive surgery, she can be spayed.
Yes the vet saw and examined her
The vets are not available till Monday. It's Saturday. And she has been sick for a week exactly. How long can she go if she is egg bound
I have done this now . Will she get cold being down in the sand . She is to week to climb out . She is just sitting in the sand .in the hole we created for her.

I normally have it set up like in this picture. I just put the sand container in today. I put some plants back in to help her feel comfortable. But since she has been in the sand she has gotten a lighter greenish grey color . She backed into the hole we dug for her and pushed sand around a little bit . She is still week and isn't moving.
