Cleaning the cage

Hey so bought a 3 month old Panther chameleon and I was just wondering how often I need to clean his cage. I was also wondering what are the best products I should use to clean/ disinfect the plants, wood and vines for when the time clean does come. I would like to make sure Leon doesn't get sick because its dirty or something. Leon is a very healthy boy and I would like to keep him like that, thank you!

I pick up the poop and urates daily and do a deeper cleaning weekly. I wipe with rubbing alcohol but only when he is out of the cage and wait for it to dry completely. I use it because it leaves no residue and doesn't harm live plant leaves. It is not a great disinfectant but I'm not trying to sterilize the cage just reduce the contaminants. Others use dilute Chlorhexidine solution or other disinfectants.
The point is to remove the poop so his feeders don't reinfect themselves with any possible parasites and then he eats them and increases his parasite load.

You need to clean the plants once they get a white film from all the dust/mineral build up. It all depends on your water and how fast your plants grow. Some never need cleaned. Just pick an enzyme based cleaner and you wont have to worry about it killing the plant by getting into the soil.

Does this matter for any reason other than how it looks?

Mine poops on the leaves so I try to reduce the contamination so the next time he use that leaf as a drinking cup... well you get the idea.

I usually pluck the leave that mine poop on. Or wipe down with vinegar. I only really spot clean my enclosures
