Closing eyes.......

My cham is still closing his eyes. He has the tube bulb now. Im worried because I know im doing good with my care. I think he is really sick.. Do you think he has coclida (parasite thing)
I think my cham is sleeping in the day. He is curled up under his uvb light with his eyes closed.. I know he tends to curl up at night, so he might actually be sleeping. Which is bad.

Rune, you have filled out the ask for help and it seems you have made some changes that we suggested including getting the tube light, but you say no improvements still. At this point, this has been going on too long with your chameleon and I would get him to a vet and take a fecal sample with you to have him checked for parasites. Atleast you can rule that out then if it comes up negative and if it tests positive then you can get him the proper medication to hlep him.

Thank you. Its just that my dad is saying he is just a lizard. Even though my dad loves animals, he doesnt think we should take a lizard to the vet. I will get him to do it somehow. Do you know the base cost of a fecal/ checkup? Thank you.

I get fecals done at the Preston Road Animal Hospital for $28. They are on the vet list at the top of the health clinic forum. (972) 239-1309 They also have a free exam for a first time pet visit. You should be able to get your cham in to have an exam and a fecal done for around $30. PM me if you have any questions. I've taken mine there to have an exam and a fecal done.
