Im geting a cested off CL tomorrow and im having trouble finding info online and on here about them. I know hes a boy possibly 4-5 in long. hes in an 18x18x24 exo terra terrarium. is there anything i should look out for reguarding his health etc....also any links with good info would be greatly appreciated...thanks

Most common thing is them being solely on crickets and developing MBD, which is personally hard for me to recognize until it's out of hand...

You MUST order CGD BEFORE acquiring a crested gecko.

That is a good sized cage for him, make sure you add lots of foliage. Get cork bark if possible (be sure to bake it). Ask for pictures and post them here.

crested gecko diet. It is essential to a crested geckos health unless you are a long time keeper and can make your own mixes with fruits and what not. I suggest you not get this animal until you know what you are doing. They are not like chameleons and do not need insects in their diets at all. Better to pass up an animal then kill it because you weren't prepared.

Aww poor guy doesn't have enough hiding spaces. CGD is crested gecko diet which is their main food. I really don't ever feed crickets, because it's not needed. I would hold off on getting a crested until you have done more research. I would suggest going here:

and reading up. Don't know what CGD is and you want a crested gecko? :|

But, if you insist on getting this specific crested gecko and will not wait and do the research, at least get a closeup on the limbs and back. I wouldn't say he is a breeder quality gecko, from what I can see so far.

i basically felt bad that his set up isnt up to par at all. i didnt know tht cgd was an abreviation. i did read about their diet needs. i just wanted to know what to look for as far as health. is it true about the calcium sacks in the roof of the mouth?....Syn i knew i would hear alot from you. thanks alot for all the info.

Yes, females certainly do, but I haven't checked any male's since they are not the egg layers... but it would make sense that they do as well. Checking the sacs is pretty stressful for the gecko, if you don't know how to check the sacs right, I've seen geckos pop their tail right off from someone grabbing too much or holding them oddly.

Julirs, repashy recently redid their formula and released probably 2 weeks ago. It would be best to order online. The newer formula is smoother and less likely to cause impaction or plug up noses on babies.. also has more sugar and makes the geckos want to eat more. Darn me stocking up!

The old stuff will certainly work just fine. I have 4 more 50 gram bottles to use up.

what is he like? you should also post pics of him and the set up.
we can most likely tell you what morph he is. (the original picture was deleted)

his cage is a 18x18x24 exoterra and is very un furnished

It is a salmon bicolor, so-so crests.. looks healthy.

As for the white bumps, both males and females have it and some speculate it has something to do with the reproduction process.

I would buy some medicated CGD as a precaution. Get the entamoeba fix as well as nematode fix. Get the small bags, you won't use all of it. It can be frozen after use for a longer shelf life (I heard it spoils after 6 months on the shelf, 1 year in the fridge, somewhat longer in the freezer). However, you MUST use it as directed, no ifs ands OR buts, and once you are done with the regimine, DO NOT USE IT AGAIN unless needed. I would space out treatments, such as e-fix for the two weeks one month, n-fix one month later.

ditch that substrate!
I would remove it as well, since there is no need for it since you can keep the humidity up. However, if you had laying females, that would be a different story.
