Cup Feeding. Tricks?

Okay, so I desperately want to get my little Cortez to start cup feeding before I get him moved into a 2'x2'x3' cage in a few weeks. I have one set up in on the side of his cage away from his basking area with two branches leading toward it so he has easy access.

I always tend to find atleast one or two extra feeders left over in his cage by the time he goes to sleep. Last night I found two crickets and a Dubia roach that I thought that I got out of there the other day when I cleaned his cage and watered the plants. But Nope..

It was fairly easy to get my two Veiled's to cup feed, but I just tossed the cup in and they went for it. That kind of gives you a good idea of how much of pigs they really are.

So any tips or hints? I even put in a smaller cup at the bottom of the cage this morning and just checked on it and it was all in there so I dumped it on the bottom for the feeders to go where ever they please. The crickets will go up to the top of the cage, but the Dubia will go into little crevices (spelling?) on the bottom and hide there.

Thanks for the help..
Zac

I would like to know also where is the best place for the cup? shall I just put it at the bottom of the cage or hanging up somewhere? My Cham never eat the feeders inside the cup, what I need to do is catch the feeder and need to put near it.

Trying hanging the cup under his favorite kick it spot. and make sure the cup has a solid bottom so they can see the crickets moving around.

I set this baby cage up yesterday. I wedge a sm plant tray between two biovines. There cheap and easy to swap out daily to keep it clean.I try point the misting head away from it and put a twig in it so feeders dont end up swimming. With little guys I always have a feeding station. Most will use it, some prefer to hunt. Hope this helps. curt

Is the color of the bowl also an issue? mine is white, I just cut down a white thick reptile food container. Will the white scared the cham?

I have a bowl tied to the side of the cage where he basks and he ignores it. Unless he goes in that direction. Tomorrow I will be stopping at PetSmart to get a few vines and more feeders thanks. He sure is picky!

what i do is take a one of those delicup container things that you would get feeders in put a branch going straight across your cage but i put mine lower so he can look down into it (spends most of his time at the top) and i use twist ties to hold it on that way you can angle it etc when it comes to misting i just flipp the cup upside down and pinch the twist ties the it stays like that and doesnt fill with water....heres a pic.
-yes my cage is naked right now ...just cleaned it and took out all the flexivines to wash em-

Your guy might be a hunter. try some other bugs other than crickets.Maybe use the feeding dish only for treat bugs to get him started on eating from the dish . I dont think the color of the dish matters much unless its clear glass. you could try feeding him a little later than normal to see if that gets him going. Either way your cham will be fine
