So I shouldn't worry about him falling in and not being able to get out?
Any downsides to cup feeding?
The cup isn't very pretty and your cham gets less exercise. Let him hunt a bit- I always release a free bug or two and let my chams hunt before putting the cup of food in.
Be sure to cut the bottom out and hot glue some screen on there to avoid collecting water.
hey! i never thought about putting screen in the bottom to help get rid of water...
I just use screen and the cups. NO BAD CHEMICALS.
If I have 2 cups same size, I cut a hole in the bottom of one cup. Then cut screen a bit larger then the bottom of the cup's circumference. I place the screen on the bottom of the 1 bottom cut cup and wedge it into the other cup.
Thus creating a nice tight seal for the screen.
Get it?
Mine doesn't get it. I left the cup in there yesterday and he didn't even eat one, so I had no choice but to let them free. Any advice on how to teach him?
I don't really like cup feeding it doesn't seem natural.
Chams enjoy hunting
Then you've never been on vacation or fed roaches before
With a misting system, and a cup trained chameleon, they're the easiest pet on the planet. When I'm gone for a few days I put 10-12 roaches in the cup with cricket chow and some collard leaves..fill up the misting resevoir and I'm gone.
Plus roaches can't be free roamed, and roaches are the dream feeder.
