Determining sex of my Panther

Hi, just looking for some more expert advice on my Panther Cham. Wondering if it is possible to confirm sex, now 7.5 months old. Haven't seen any colours other than grey/brown/beige/black. Purchased a male cham, but had a vet tell me they were pretty sure he was female. Any help appreciated. Notee photos where you can see him completely are 1 month old, pictures of tail area only are today as he was being paranoid so didn't want to freak him out more by handling him.

Thanks for any assistance.

Sounds female. should definetley be able to tell by that time.

Does the tail have a thick base or a skinny base?

here is a male tail

Well I guess I'm off to contact the breeder as we specifically requested and paid $150 extra for a male. We shall see how that goes.

Thanks for all the help.

The pictures of her full body are 6 weeks or so ago. Wouldn't sit still today for a photo session. I have nothing to compare her to with regards to size.
Are you saying that the photos are of a 5-6 month old panther? Looks closer to 2-3 months to me. At 6 months she should be pretty far along.

This one is a week shy of 6 months. I know there isn't much scale, but she's quite a bit larger than the girl in your photo. Now some develop slower than others, but by 6 months she should be much larger.

It *sounds* to me that the breed ed r you got her from sent you a cham that was way young and because of that, couldn't guarantee the sex. Hopefully this "breeder" will honor your arrangement.

Best of luck!

Hi Hashtag, we got him/her beginning of September at which time we were told he was 4 months old. So should be 7.5 months now give or take a week. Even without scale your girl is way chunkier and mine eats well along with calcium and multi's.

My Cham on Oct 26th - thus 6 months old based on breeders aging. For scale tip to second knuckle on my pinkie is 1.5 inches.

Let me see if I can track down the photos of my girl... I just switched phones.

But simply put, something is VERY off on her age. And my girl is "chunky" because she just got done laying her first clutch of eggs, RUDE!! [Lol, I'm teasing of course... she's definitely a tree cow]

This was her the day she shipped out to me (roughly 3.5 months old). She was about 2.5" StV... so very similar to yours. Even if - which I'm not saying she is/was - your girl was malnourished, she should look like a typical female by 7 months old.

Two of my girls, Delilah had/has MBD courtesy of Petco (first image) [shes just about 1year] and the other is my WC girl (guesstimated to be 2years):

Both are bigger and obviously more developed than my little girl. (But the little one has the BIGGEST attitude!). Lil bitty is just coming into her "adult body" - her hatch date was 6/27/19. Your girl, even slow to develop should be much further along and MUCH bigger. I'd even say you should have seen her getting fat with her first clutch - though some can make it over a year before they lay. I mean, yea, its possible that shes that stunted... but that would lead me to believe theres something wrong in the gene pool. Otherwise, she came to you at 1-2 months old as she was super teeny tiny. At least, that's my opinion.

Regardless though... hopefully you get you male as you were promised from the get go. If I were you though, I'd be weary of this breeder...
