Difference in Panther Locale Availability

So i've finally gotten the bug and am considering a second panther. I'm looking for a male Tamatave. After looking here and everywhere on the web, i've realized they have very limited availability. I got my first panther from the Kammers, an Ambilobe. I obviously found that Ambilobes are the most readily available. What is the reason that some locale's are so common and more available than others? it is just that Ambilobes have been captive bred for so long that there are so many available or is there something based on husbandry that affects this?

P.S. if anyone has any reputable breeders for Tamataves they can refer, please let me know.
