Dilly beans vet visit. I'm a horrible cham parent.

I'm a terrible parent. :(:(:(
She has poor bone density, a minor uri and possible infectious or inflammatory osteoarthritis. The fecal is being sent out for the test, but she said it looked good as far as urate and poo goes. We are giving her meloxicam- .02mg daily for pain in the inflammation, Enrofloxacin- .1mg daily for the uri, and liquid calcium- .11mg daily. The vet doesn't want to call it mbd yet but I do, her bones are depleted and starting to show very minor bends. THANK GOD I FOLLOWED MY CHAMELEMOM INSTINCTS. Ok, sorry for shouting but I knew something was off and I am so glad that I followed up. This could have easily been fatal. The vet was happy with the husbandry, she is attributing the hypocalcemiab(MBD in my opinion) and osteoarthritis to the recent clutch drawing calcium from her bones. The uri is very early, we might want overreacting to the minor cough by adding the antibiotics already but the vet said infections will almost always kick the chams while they are down and she's definitely down.

I'me a terrible parent for letting this happen to her! :(:(:(

I'll post the x-rays for you guys to see as soon as they are emailed to me, should be by tomorrow.

No you're not. Don't be so hard on yourself. A horrible cham parent wouldn't have caught it early and taken her to the vet.
I just knew something was off with her since her clutch. I know that I sounded paranoid and crazy, but I'm SOOOOO glad that I was paranoid enough to watch for symptoms and get her to the vet. Left unchecked , this could have been fatal.

Increase ur basking spot temperature slightly higher than the recommendation for the veiled, and keep the cage dry in between the misting time, dont mist the cham directly, make sure is no draft from the window with cold air to ur cage ,remember the optimal temperature range, heat will play a very important factor in "Minor URI"

We didn't see any mucous in her mouth or any problems in her lungs on the scan, but she is gaping and not from anger, holding her mouth open, and when she exhales you can hear a distinct crackling.

Thank you guys so much for the support! I can't help beating myself up for this.

Take a deep breath and stop beating yourself up. You knew enough to know something was off and you acted on it. That's a charactaristic of a good parent of a kid or chameleon. Another is following through with the vets instructions, which I have no doubt you will do. She will be just fine!!

Increase ur temperature will speed up your chameleon's metabolism allowing her to fight the infection more effectively, since u caught it early for the "Minor URI" what is the temperature in the cage now??

85 in top, 77 in the bottom and her basking spot is reading at 89 but she's not been going to it recently. Should I move it to where she's been hanging out? I have another light, I'll add it right now and see what it does with the temps. It's just a cfl, not a uvb bulb but it'll bring the temps up.

If u can raise ur room temperature then will indirectly to bring the temperature up in general so u dont have to change ur setting .if not then u can change the wattage on the bulb, but monitor her closely, did the vet prescribed the Baytril ; Forta or something else?
