Does Bean have MBD??!!!

you said on Monday that a vet called and could get her in today in the am! What happened?
I was supposed to call @ 8am to see if there was an ER time available. It filled. 😡. I kept calling from 7:59-8:01 when they answered. I was bawling. Now gotta call tomorrow @ the same time & if it doesn’t work, again on Friday. It’s so fucking frustrating. I’m a wreck.

I have called EVERY single vet. Today I called one & because I’m a new client regardless if emergency or not they won’t see my fir 2 weeks. Like WTF???!!! I just don’t get it.
Wow. Vets in my area would never do that. You have to get beans in tomorrow to give her a chance.

If you know of a vet in your area that specializes in reptiles/chams, take Beans there, they should be able to see she's dying and if they turn you away, it's on them. Hang in there!
I am trying. Seeing my daughter upset is the worst. It’s all fucked IMO. And I’m so pissed that Bean isn’t being put as a priority.

I know nothing about these places...I live in Canada...but this one says for emergencies...have you tried it?

What I'm trying to say is if you take Beans to the vet, even without appointment, they will make trying to save her life a priority. Or not. But I can't think of any other/better options other than waiting some more.

I called dove Lewis Saturday & they don’t have anyone that can look at her that has a specialist. Just called another one & their exotic vet is in tomorrow from 7-7. Will be there 1st thing in the am.

That is a great link, kinyoga!

We know you’re doing your best and it’s all you can do. I agree, be there even before 7 am so they see you waiting and be the first in the door!

The ER vet receptionist just told me that due to the weakness & her not eating that she most likely won’t pull through surgery & recommends putting her down. I just don’t want to do that yet. But I’m not sure if that’s my only option at this point. 💔😢

Unfortunately what they are telling you is very true. The fact that she is laying the way she is and not supporting her weight lowers her chances of being able to make it through surgery. It shows how weak she is. You can of course pay for surgery and try but they are trying to be honest with you. Which is a hell of a lot more then others would do. I do not think her not eating is abnormal for a cham in her condition though.

In the end you have to decide what is best for her. If you feel like her getting the surgery is important to you then do it. The only thing in her favor is she has lasted as long as she has. Typically when we see them in the forum at this point it is a 24 hour downward spiral. They do not hold on like she is.
