Hellow, fist off in please to ahve found this forum. This is my first post too. I will do my best to supply all relavent information.
I own a 4-5 month old Male Veiled Chamelion ( Meelo ). He apears healthy and is eating well. I have seen him dinking may times. I have noticed he is not relay showing any colors other than lime green, brown, some white and poka dots ( black ). I was wondering if the fact that I have Milar around him on three sides may be afecting him.
I grow Bonsai and vegtables in my basement ( live near chicago). SO I have lots of greens, I am lighting with a 1000watt full spectrum HID light. Under the light a hight temprature of 93 degrees is reached and teprature ranged fom 93 to as low as 68 on nights. (73 degrees a low on days) I use a timer and the light is on for 12-13 hrs. Mello has three vines difrent sizes and has two altitudes to roam. over all he has a teritort of seven square feet.
The milar ( reflective film) dose move a little with the fan that is on for 10 hours. should i substitute wiht white film, thats not reflective but will geive me better usage of light? I have had Meelo for a month now. he is very active.
Food: thanks to an animal expo held three blocka away twice a week, I feed him a viraiaty of wax worms, horn worms, a couple meal worms, crickets and phenex worms. I dust the crickets with a chamelion duster, I forgiot the name every other time. I feed him about 12 -8 crickets every day and couple worms a day as a treat. I do gut load the crickets.
Meelos poop seams healthy form what ive read on this forum. Meelo some times likes to be held and other times dosent. Meelo has not hissed at me, but dose hiss at my guirl friend, she took it to hart.lol oh, this is my first Veiled chamelion, thought i have resurched them scince i have been a kid, in 32 now. I felt chamelions were to edvanced till now.
please offer me edvice.
Im so happy to have found this forum.
