Okay so the tornado sirens have been going off for like an hour! And I woke Kuzco up bc I didn't want him to die! But is he going to die bc I woke him up and he got super stressed out and turned black and yellow and hissed and gaped and bit me!!! Hard! And I'm freaking out bc I don't want him to die!!!!!

Do you know what I should do with him?? He's so dark I put him back because he was biting and so stressed and I'm terrified that the stress of me waking him will kill him....

Most tornado's aren't really bad. We will hope yours is not bad. If you have to move to the basement or anything I would take your boy along in a box. He may be upset but he will get over it. It scares them if we wake them up.

I panicked and grabbed him to brim him downstairs and he bit me really hard and I'm so scared he's gonna die bc everyone says "Never wake a sleeping chameleon" but I panicked and I don't want him to die either way......

I can imagine that you are frightened but as long as you and your dwelling remain standing I'm certain Kuzco will be okay as well! He's had a fright and that is why he bit you but when things settle down, he will as well. Please stay safe and know I'm sending prayers.

Thank you so much. I feel like I'm going to puke. I think more bc my mom woke me up screaming and sirens were going off and he was trying to kill me. I'll have to give him treats it something tomorrow...thank you for your prayers!!!

I hope you guys are okay!!! I've accidentally woken mine up before. Also, when I picked him up when I first got him, the breeder had to wake him up because he already went to bed. Just make sure his routine stays as normal as possible to help him out. Again, hope all goes well!!!

That way you don't have to wake him.... You could always put the box in his cage and open it in the dark with like a flashlight and then he could crawl out at his leisure in the morning...

Kuzco will be OK. It's only recommended that people not wake their chams up but it isn't going to kill him.
I'm glad to see that others have also added their prayers for you, your family and your Kuzco.
Try to take some deep, slow breaths because it will help you to feel a bit calmer.
Believe it or not drinking a cup of warm milk helps to soothe your nerves.

No, he's in his home. It can be pretty much anything. His will most likely be a box with a towel, a stick and some vines. He would be fine to sleep in it for the night I assume but if its for a few hours it would be okay I assume, for the temps and humidity to be off. (Not by much, but his cage is like 68 and my house is 72, and my house has a 25% humidity and his cage has a 40% overnight.)

Thank God... I would die. I may do that. Tea sound good about now though actually.I'm glad too. Mama said we are going to get a "travel cage" and on bad weather nights make him sleep in there. I hope he doesn't hold a grudge...

He's back asleep. Thankfully.. tomorrow I will try hand fed goodies to make him love me again.

phew! glad its all calmed down.
how stressfull that must have been for all of you!
Yes, it would be good to have a small emergency travel cage to have in your basement or to take with you if you have to leave fast. Cant hurt to have a pair of sturdy gloves to put on if you need to grab the chameleon fast, or a towel to put over him. I keep boxes handy for emergency travel (as well as some bird cages) - once they are in the dark box they usually settle fairly fast.
