Exo terra screen terrarium?

Mango is in a glass terrarium right now, but I wanted to upgrade to a screen one which I read is better? I've been told glass is better because it keeps the humidity better? Can someone explain why mesh is better?

This is the one I'm thinking of http://www.exo-terra.com/en/products/flexarium.php

Would the 65gal one be enough for a veiled? How do you hang the lights on on them?

Glass vivariums do hold humidity better, however, lack of ventilation causes stagnant air...this can lead to health problems for your Chameleon. A screen cage with lots of live plants gives the best of both worlds; Ventilation, and Humidity.

I would go with a screen cage that has a door instead of a zipper. I've read that the zipper can get stuck and be a pain to deal with.

Is Mango a male or a female? What type of chameleon is he/she?

I just checked the measurements: 65 Gallon =76x42x76cm or 30”x16.5”x30”

For a male I'd say this is a little on the small side. I think these are made out of some kind of fabric also. Honestly if I were you I would buy an aluminium screen cage. If you live in the US you can pick up a good sized one extremely cheap. I'm British so had to pay huge delivery/import charges, and it was still cheaper than UK equivalents.

Flexariums probably arent designed for permanent housing...the look great as temporary outdoor living for when the weather is right!

She is a female veiled.

I can get these cages from my work for like 30 dollars. Also I'm from Canada. Know of any places to get a good, cheap screen cage for her?

Nothing worse when your busting

I can confirm zip front solution is fine till it jams.... worse if it breaks completely after jamming.

Those exo terra flexariums are awful. Bugs chew through them, they're a pain to clean cause they don't open up fully and the zips break/jam lol

You could get a glass /screen cage, best of both worlds. Mine is glass front, back and bottom: screen sides and top. Glass allows a clear front view, protects your back wall from water damage, helps hold moisture and keeps my kids from damaging it. Side screens, lets in the airflow, climbing for the chameleon and lets me spray the whole cage. They are kind of hard to find online, I bought mine from our local dealer.
