Face Mask

Nothing was tied to any beardie's face. In the picture, it's laid across loosely, and I just held it up for size—no straps.

But you're OK with strapping on a pair of wings... :cautious:
Honestly... No, I am not ok with it. AND I have every right to say so. I think it is pointless to do that. I have been in this forum long enough to see some really stupid stuff when it comes to dressing up and treating chams as if they are a doll.

AND YES I am ok with the wings because it is a freaking harness!!!! Not someone just putting wings on their beardy for looks... IT IS A HARNESS WITH LEAD.

Thanks for clearing up the confusion. Who said you didn't have a right to your opinion?

Personally, if I were going to take a beardie outside, I would opt for an outdoor enclosure.
Here are just a couple of reasons why:

I'm sure these kinds of things wouldn't apply to you—you're very conscientious—but they happen. I'm not aware of either ever happening to a lizard safely inside an enclosure.

Regarding photo ops, I'm not the one who brought it up, so perhaps some of the ire is misplaced.
The thought did occur to me, but I didn't even attempt it. When I held the little mask up for size and got a negative reaction, that was the end of it. It was an anecdote; the reactions speak for themselves.

In my view, as all critters are individuals, it's really up to them (and how things are presented to them, as with hand-feeding, etc.) Some beardies take to harnesses, and some don't, and I would never force a harness—or suggest anyone else to—on a lizard of any species. I would especially not advise any kind of hip harness.

Preventing any living animal from breathing is retarded, the PHOBIC PEOPLE SHOULD PREVENT THEMSELVES FROM BREATHING, everybody else should be left alone...I NEED OXYGEN TO BREATHE

Yeah I never thought this would be a new reality though. You watch movies about stuff like this and it is just a movie. Real life is much different especially when you have children. Plus I am in California and the politicians have lost their minds here. Everything is upside down and barely functioning.
I am in California too and am in shock as to what is going on here. Hugely disappointed. And BTW still no eggs laid by Etosha :)

Yeah it is cray cray here. Where in Cali are you? You may get lucky if you found that sweet spot balance in temps and feeding for her. Maybe she won't lay or maybe it will be a very small clutch yearly when she does. :)

I am in Eureka, Humboldt County way north. We had the same number of new cases in a 45 day period that we did in the first 109 day period. I would say they are being careful to an extent here.

wow I feel blessed to not be living there atm. I was living there just 4 years ago. Maybe my parents saw the future?

I dont think people understand that the less careful they are the longer this will continue. I am concerned also with the long term effevts being seen especially heart damage. This is no joke no matter age.

Im in southern California. I live in Twentynine Palms, very close to Palm Springs. They are saying we are SMASHING our covid records right now, they are increasing dramatically.
And I just started my essential employee job at the post office...thank God, though. I could not stay home any longer! They shut down schools April 16th, so I have been out of work (was still a paid employee, but wasnt going to work) and at home since then.
Im glad to be out and about again.

But absolutely, follow safety regulations. Stay socially distant when possible, and wear a dang mask when you are around someone. I think it is dumb that everyone is up in arms about wearing their masks. Protect yourself and your neighbors, even if you think it is ridiculous, it can save someones life.

I still think (wearing a mask) should be no different than wearing a seatbelt or a helmet. More accurately, it should probably be compared to not smoking indoors; it's not necessarily about your own health, but sparing others. Unlike any of those measures, it's not likely to be permanent—only until vaccines have been distributed & used.
