brandon

p.s. does anyone know how to figure out who got 2nd,3rd, etc. in the photo contest?

I can't give you the answer to how to dilute flagyl. If you are trying to treat something with it how do you know its the proper/appropriate thing to use? If its a bacteria, you need to know that it will work against the bacteria involved and if its a parasite...same deal.

You should take the chameleon to a vet and have it treated properly IMHO.

ive read on what it cures from what i know it will help, buuuuuuut i dont know how to cut it down to. if you dont want to help thats up to you, i guess ill have to guess, thanks

Id also like to add that everyones advise is always to take them to the vet, perhaps if people start helping and shareing info this may one day not be needed and our pet/little family member can be helped when they need it and not rely on a vet WHICH does Not always know as much as they need to about chameleons. so if there are people out there with knowledge about flagyl i would really appreciate it.

Cutting solutions need to be specific because certain compounds such as deionized water can change the chemical composition of Flagyl thus making the mixture useless. So i think you might need a vet or a pharmacist to get that solution (just my opinion). The Klingenberg book recommends a dosage of 25-50 mg/kg daily so if my calculations are right the equation is
(cham weight in kg)x(25-50 mg/kg)x(5mL/250mg)x(Dilution amount mL/1mL) = ?mL
Just take your chams weight convert to kg and plug into the equation and the amount you want to dilute. I would check my work. :)

Good luck!

millionsofchameleons said..."if you dont want to help thats up to you"...I said I can't give you the answer because I don't know...not because I didn't want to help.

sounded like you didnt want to help,"I can't give you the answer to how to dilute flagyl" could mean you dont know or dont want to tell me. dont worry im not mad at you. sorry if i affended you.

a vet who specializes in reptiles would be very up to par on chameleons, and imo it wouldn't be much use to take him to a vet who didn't specialize
