Hello-

I'm just curious what plants are being used in large enclosures or greenhouses that are made for the larger species.

Thanks!

One of my favorite trees for larger chams, free ranges or very large cages is Ficus alli (I think its also known as the lance-leaved Ficus). Sturdy, grows fairly large, seems less cantankerous than the classic Ficus benjamina (weeping fig) so many of us try to use. I got a 7' potted one from a large nursery (it was mispriced much too low so I snapped it up!), and its foliage filled a minivan. Like all Ficus it produces a sticky sap when pruned, so if you break leaves or twigs you may want to wipe it off or let it dry completely before using it.

Hawaiian Scheffleras can get pretty large too. You might try dwarf citrus trees but they may need more direct sun if you try keeping them indoors or in a shaded greenhouse.

I've had some luck with Hibiscus, the flowers attract insects and are edible.
