Hello Facelesdoll,

Wow, it takes ALOT of patience to read this WHOLE thread..I tried it once and onlygot to the second page  anyways..my dr was out yesterday so she will probably give me a call today with what she thinks the xray intales...weird thing is shes showing gravid colors and she's gained 20g ?? hmm, but it could be air? normally you would be able to see the actual formed eggs, so thats where I'm confused? Ehh..once she gives me a call I'll let you guys know!

XRAY Review Update

Had a chat with my boss about the x-rays...she said everything looks normal. There are NOT any eggs! Yayyy for her sake & MINE too! :) So0o..looks like we can focus 100% on curing her infections and focus on teaching her how to eat on her own...If you guys have any tips on feeding her let me know! BUT I am happy to announce that when I do put Silkies or Horns in her mouth she no longer tries to "SPIT" them out...She is able to move them down on her own with her hyoid spike with a slight tilt as any normal cham would do! :) And..since she's started these new meds she still has not opened her mouth...or had any deep breaths..!!!! Whooo Hoo! I'm Sooooo Excited for her! :)

THANK YOU TO ALL WHO GAVE ME SUPPORT THROUGH THIS CRAZY EXPERIENCE...AND I HOPE THIS NEVER HAPPENS TO ANYONE ELSE....

Great to hear progress is being made about her situation. Does she eat other insects if you kill (cricket or super worm) them and put them in her mouth. Eventually you may want to try a feeding dish and see if she will eat out of it like a Bearded Dragon.

Yes, I was giving her crix, supers & dubias before the horns and silkies, she ate them all pretty well...I was going to start dish feeding her rather than hand feeding...every time I've tried to hand feed she gets scared and either runs off or tries to bite... I suppose I would to if I was as little as she is...lol I did not feed her yesterday or today, I'm going to see if she'll dish feed tomorrow...I'll let you know what happens!

I dont know how that could have happend, but I just happen to be in the pet store the other day saying to a lady standing in line that I dont like handling the crickets. She told me this

She doesnt handle live crickets any longer because her chameleon has no tongue some how she lost it over night one day. That was a couple years ago. She got a little feeding bowl that actually vibrates enough to make the dead or canned crickets seem to jump around in it. Her chameleon simply moseys over to the bowl and snatches one or two out with her mouth now.

Hello WyteAnjal,

Thats an Idea to! Thanks for the info! She still seems to be afraid of my hand holding the feeders...even the dish it's self?? Maybe this would be a better way? She's currently in a Temporary "SMALL" cage..But will be moved into a bigger one in a couple days..Maybe I can make way of a dish in there for her...

update

I thought I would post an update on Izzie since its been a while....a couple weeks back I thought I lost her...but shes slowly but surely coming around...we've stopped all meds on her..only giving her 1cc of LR a day. so since then, I've been on a search to find something that would help my little girl out...I've read up a lot on reptaid and saw quite a bit of good results with it. so I decided to contact Elliott from Chams NW who was very helpful and gave me great advice. He was also very proud and in love with the product that I couldn't refuse to buy it. I will be doing so when I get home from work today. wish us luck with reptaid!!!

I used reptaid as well on my cham moths ago, after he had a bout with coccidia and it perked him up and brought up his appetite. Yes Elliot was nice with me and got some butterworms too...my chams love those things!

Kayla how is the reptaid working, and how is Izzie? Maybe a new picture of the sweet girl?

Hello Laurie,

She has been on Reptaid about a week now, she seems to be the same no better no worse...maybe I'll see something in this next week?! she's able to move about her enclosure without falling which is good, I'm still hand feeding her. I will post a new picture of her when I get home tonight :)

Kayla

Here you go Laurie!

This is a photo of her from earlier today! She's been in a Smaller cage for the last few weeks, She's gradually getting her strength back, and it's now been a challenge for me to feed her since she will not let me open her mouth anymore..."since she's getting better" But aside from that..shes drinking well, I'm giving her Reptaid once a day for the next couple weeks to see how she does...But she still has a ways to go to get her strangth back...It's been a long road with this little girl...

Enjoy!
