Freak Accident!!!!!!!! Need Help!!

Oh no! that's horrible! i'm new to chameleons. i bought a jackson's chameleon about a week ago. i can't imagine waking up to something like that.. :(
 
Culture Update

Okie Dokie..So0o We got "SOME" results back..Looks like she has a slight yeast infection...along with Staph and Strep...So0o my DR asked what would be the best meds to use for her??? She asked me if the following would be okay for chams..See Below..

Geotrichum Species "YEAST INFECTION": (MEDS ARE) NYSTATIN DROPS
STAPH/STREP: (MEDS ARE) Bactrim or TMS -Tri Mecatrin Sulfa- "not sure if i spelt it right"


Any feed back would be awesome on any of these meds..I go to work tomorrow and want to get this taken care of ASAP...And if you've ever used any of them..what were the doses given??

Bactrim (sulfamethoxazole and trimethoprim) has been used on quite a few of my chameleons over the years with good results.

I've never used Nystatin...but here is a site about it....

There is a comment..."nystatin is of bacterial origin. It was isolated from Streptomyces noursei"...which makes me wonder if the bactrim could prevent it from working. I would think that the vet should know that.

New Meds.

Okie Dokie...So finally were taking her off of baytril...and starting her on "Bactrim" to treat the Staph & Strep Infection, I give her the first dose tonight. Then for the Yeast Infection I'll be getting the Meds on monday..we had to call it into the Pharmacy to get it compounded. I'll keeo everyone updated on her progress :) Oh..No Eggs yet..
 
She sure has been through so much, i can't wait until she is past all this and has only the tongue problem to deal with. my fingers are still crossed for her as usual.
 
This little girl and you have been through so much. I'm really pulling for her and can't wait to the the post that she's 100% again.
 
Update

Okay So0o I picked up my other medicine today for Ms.Izzie, So she's now taking Bactrim .06cc Once a Day to treat the Staph and Strep Infection and Fluconazole .01 ml Once a Day to treat the Fungal Infection..Both are to be used for about a months time....So looks like were on the road to recovery!!! I'll let eveyone know in about a week or so hows she's doing with both these meds...Oh and she's OFF of the Baytril..and I'm still giving her 1.5 cc of Sub-Q Fluids :)

I thought I would post some current Gravid pics of her! Let me know how she looks?! :)

awe she looks great! She is truly a living miracle, but never would have made it without you as her owner!
 
She is lucky to have an owner like you. You are doing a fantastic job and I applaud your dedication and hard work. Keep us updated.
