Getting frustrated

So the vet said she did a float on her feces and didn't find any parasites or anything but did see that her urate is brownish orange.

Soooo she said she's gonna draw blood and see what going on with her kidneys.

What the hell.. I just want my chameleon to come home and be healthy.

They sure are taking they're sweet time over there which is irritating me to say the least. The longer she's there the more they charge me, makes sense since most of them just want your money anyways.

well still playing the waiting game, she said she'd call tomorrow.

:l

so srry for your trouble i know how you feel. i hope your cham comes back perfect to you and you get a discount for all the waiting.:D:D:D

I wou;dn't even mind waiting if they didn't charge per day.

Her bill is just rising and rising... stressing me out.

I am a pre-vet student ( not even close to a real vet yet) and I volunteer at a few clinics. A lot of lab tests just take time. Try to be patient, I know it's almost impossible. Most, if not all, of the vets I know are definitely not doing what they do just to get your money.:)

You know, and this is just what I would do, if they don't find anything by tomorrow I would bring her home. It may be something just as simple as her going on a hunger strike and that could explain her lack of eating. As far as the other things you're saying I don't know, but you can't just leave her there if they're going to take all this time testing her and you're having to pay a lot of money for them to do so. These things have a way of figuring themselves out a lot of times, and there's also a ton of people on here that could probably explain what's going on with your Po.

The Vet will find out whatever is wrong w/ your Cham and then you can have a healthy cham.

The bad part is that what you will be charged, you could have purchased 2 or 3 chams also...

She's just not well enough for me to take her home. She has clear issues that are not small problems.

but also I'm sure they're not intentionally holding her forever but it feels like it because I miss my Po ):

ughh...

vet called and also sent me this

Alexandra,

I faxed off the initial of Po’s visit stuff.* We got a second fecal sample which is a bit odd, so I wanted your permission to submit it.* I think it is more similar to what you were reporting and very different from the normal feces that we got over the weekend.* Also, the blood work showed possible kidney issues.* Specifically, all animals should have a calcium to phosphorus ratio of 2:1 (2 calcium to 1 phosphorus).* In Po’s case, her Calcium is 13.0 and her phosphorus is 15.4.* This can occur in dehydration or in kidney issues.* If she is dehydrated, it isn’t much since her sodium levels and protein levels are not that high, so I am afraid that it’s kidney.* We can give her some phosphorus binders to get that back down and some fluids to try to flush it out, but I know that money is a bit of a concern.* Let me know what you want to do…* The extra submissions are going to add somewhere between $50 and $130 (depending on if we have to do one test or two to get the answer).* The phosphorus binders can cost up to $20 or so, the fluids are $10 a day.* I will call you as well, but I have to teach class all afternoon so wanted to email you too in case I don’t get ahold of you before I’m locked in a classroom.*

Thanks,

I'm glad to hear that :). Good luck with her and keep us posted; wish there was more we could do to help.

So stressed ): what if they can't help her.
Try not to think like that. I'm not trying to sound all like a yoga instructor or something, with think positive energy, but really the best thing you can do right now is hope for the best. And if they're really going this thorough with her I'm sure they'll be able to find a solution to whatever is troubling Po.
