ghetto table top free range

I do a lot of work at my desk throughout the day and wanted to spend more time with my little guy, so I went to Michaels and threw together a $10 free range. Granted it's only going to work for a few more months since he's so small, but it's a start!

He'll probably spend the majority of his day in his main cage, but a few hours at a time in this while I work. A few questions I have:

1) how important is having a UV light for his free range if he spends most of the time under one in his main cage?
2) should I give him water by hand since misting isn't really a viable option with computer equipment all over my desk - and if so how often do you think would be best?

Thanks!

If he's only there for a few hours he want need a light or water. It's always fun though to see them drink via the dropper. Here'a a couple of mine having a drink.

love it! I tried that last night and he just wanted to climb the dropper - I'll keep trying though. One day he'll be thirsty enough.

I left him alone for a good 30 minutes, came back and found him across the room on top of the bookshelf; apparently he's much better at getting to far away curtains than I gave him credit for

I'm not sure if you have room for something like this on your desk but this is what I used when my Elly was a baby in the link below. She was so tiny I didn't want to loose her in my house. They just wait for you to turn you back and then they run. :)

I really REALLY love that pot within a pot idea!! I've been running guard with Stanley trying to escape his free range so for his size though I think I'll have to use a rubbermaid lol but the idea is AWESOME!

this made me smile

lol i wish my tree frog could be put on a free range but last time i took him out trying to feed him by hand he slid under my door and i found him 3hrs later in the living room eating bugs that were on my tv.
