Hello there. I dont know a ton about veileds but i do know they are the type of cham to eat leaves. So i wouldnt be too worried about that. When you say he goes to the bottom of the cage, does he go to the lowest branch or vine or is he literally on the bottom?

Well, let's take a look. There are a few things you can adjust in his husbandry, such as more sprayings to up the humidity and you might lower the basking temp to 85. Additionally, remove the dead leaves from the plant and the bottom of the enclosure. He maybe ready for a bigger enclosure, hunting, or maybe thermo-regulating, or...... Otherwise, your veiled is being a 6 mo old veiled. I recollect Lucky cruising the cage at that age. Although I don't remember him eating dead leaves. Actually, I've never seen him eating any type of foliage, but maybe when I'm not looking. Either way, follow the guides to a T for a juvenile veiled and you'll be fine. We tend to worry about our little dragons when their just being them.

Safe to say thats a male lol

I'd recommend upgrading his cage size. He is getting to the age where he will be roaming more looking for a mate or just to explore his territory.

Thermoregulation. As an endothermic animal they lack the ability to control body heat through their metabolism as they take energy in from the surroundings in the form of heat energy. Unlike humans which get energy only from food(chemical energy) and give out heat because we are exothermic.
Sorry for the physics/chemistry lesson.
