Gutloading Crickets With NORI (Roasted Seaweed)

Hello Everybody!

Im a Veiled Chameleon owner from Brasil. He has 4 months old and is doing very well.

The thing is: About one month ago i found here at home a package of NORI (Roasted Seaweed). I looked on its nutritional value and found out that it has a very interesting combination of vitamin and minerals. The proportion is: 1 g of carbohydrates; 1 gram of proteins and 3 mili grams of Calcium.

I thought it would be a very good alternative to add it to the gutloading plate of my crickets.

Here is an article about Seaweed: http://www.itmonline.org/arts/seaweed.htm

What you guys think of the use of seaweed as an gutloading strategy?

I just bought it like this.

But looking in the back to see the nutritional value it seems just like the dried...

But ill check it!!!

I use seaweed nori (like is used for sushi rolls) as well as dehydrated bull kelp and spirulina, as part of my gutload. SandraChameleon introduced these to me, so I know she does too.

Any seaweed suitable for human consumption is fine to use. Seaweed is very nutritious. Raw is best, Dehydrated is better than high heat cooked, but either way it's good stuff (for people and for gutload). Nori is usually rack-dried and is a good gutload item. High in vitamin C, Vit A (preformed), Riboflavin, Folate, Manganese, iron and lots of other good stuff too. For more info, do a search on Porphyra

I think I would gutload myself with seaweed...maybe throw some rice in there... and a slice of raw tuna or salmon.... and sprinkle with sesame seeds... and some unagi sauce....
Actually iam just going to take a walk to the sushi place.

I sure would! none of my friends eat sushi, eventhough most of them are asian... Since I love sushi so much I make it myself, including the sauces and all.
I just feed my chameleon a super worm.... considering how fast he ate that is making my hungry... I wonder what will happen if I eat one:confused:
