How long do i have to wait to handle my 3 month old nosy be? I got him last Tuesday and am really excited! He's showing some excellent blue!

:)Hello and welcome to the forums. It is usually recommended to give them 2 weeks of settling in time. Then follow their ques. If they want to be handled that's fine if they show stress or aggression leave them be. Start with hand feeding and see how that goes. Good Luck.

It very much depends on the cham. Mcbdz is right. Two weeks is a good settling in time. Start with offering food and let him get used to your hand.

We often recommend two weeks, but I think one week is enough if you take it slow and the cham is eating and doesn't seem too nervous. This does mean at least a week with no distubance though, not even much looking when you're not cleaning or feeding :)

I would try hand feeding to get it going. You can start attempting to hand feed as soon as it starts to eat in your care. After it recognizes you as the one who feeds it, it can make handling easier as you now have leverage!

On the other hand, some will never get used to handling or sometimes even hand feeding so be patient and dont be discouraged if nothing happens. Some only become okay with handling once they are adults.

i have had mine for a couple of weks. really doesnt like me much, but has been slowly letting me closer without running from me, he has been coming to the front of his enclosure when i bring food as well. he usually just sits on his perch under the light staring at me lol
