Cool, don't ya love that feeling when they climb on you the very first time!?
You know he trusts you.
How did you get him on you?
I use my hand, make it flat, and slide my fingers gently under them and let
them feel the warmth for a few seconds before sliding my hand under them.
When they climb on you w/o any baiting, with food, that's such a great feeling
fantastic, it feels so weird when they grab your ears
I went to get him. I put 1 hand over him to kind of push him toward my other hand that was flat and he went with it.
Does he really trust me?? I can't tell but that is so cool if he does!!
Very amusing pics He must 'trust' you to some extent, I like to think my lizards trust me but they really only ever approach me when there's food involved.......
For future reference lizards generally don't like being approached from above, it takes longer but the little kind of 'push' is not really going to help him trust you lol.
It's good that you are still enjoying him just as much, I hope you'll have plenty of room for more of them when you move back to LA
Cute pics, Seb! He's looking rather beastly!
I agree with David, I have gotten into trouble using both hands.
They are okay when they see your hand in front and coming from eye
level or reaching up to them, but never reach a hand behind them where they cant see or they are likely to turn and bite in fear.
I love these photos haha their great!!
I get you but Reptar actually just walks to my hand now which is pretty cool
Great pictures...Your expression is just as enthusiastic as I imagined it to be! You'll find Reptar will go for the head, it's warm and they are 'heat seekers', of course! Great that you've developed a trusting relationship since you've had him - I see a long and meaningful relationship between you two!!
Smeagie does that too, but when I have to take him home from the free range, he is getting sleepy and grumpy and doesnt want to go home
That's about the only time he needs to be gently coaxed
Yeah, when I open his cage to let him out, then he practly jumps on me
