Hawaii Jackson's to Canada??

You can try shiping it in the cargo compartment on some airlines as long as you have the right paper work and I would check to see if its canada would accept you to transport a cham in to canada:)

All I have to say is that there are Phelsuma INSIDE THE AIRPORT in Oahu. I wanted to stash one sooo bad but the airport definitely gives you the vibe that you'd be in huge trouble if you got caught...

any sort of illegal reptile transport can potentially bring huge fines, especially if it were to involve cites, or international borders. plus getting caught would be bad for the hobby, it would be a particularly bad time to get caught since most jurisdictions are on the defensive about invasive species of any kind.

They are all over the back yard in Kona and they love the bromeliads :D However they are considered " the bad gecko " LMAO

Oahu

So I am planning a short trip to Hawaii in the next two months, I was wondering two things.

1) What's the best island to see a lot of jacksonii
2) What process is involved in bringing some back to Canada, I live in BC

Thanks!

If you stay on Oahu, say in Waikiki, its not too hard to get over to the windward side, and see them above Kaneohe in the Ho'omaluhia Botanical Garden. The addy is : 45-680 Luluku Road, Kane'ohe HI Phone 808-233-7323. They are most prevalent on the upper parts of the garden near the cliffs.

If you're not renting a car, you can take "the bus" or even rent a cab for the trip, and even arrange a pick-up later. Its a great botanical garden and worth more than an afternoon.

BTW, without a practiced eye, you will not see "a lot" of chameleons. Its hard to find one. Once you get the hang of it, you might find a few in a day and call that good.

Maybe others can guide you for sites on other islands; I have only once seen one on the big island, but not any on Maui yet.

As many have said, taking any home to the country of Canada is not practical.

Have a great vacation.
