Hello everyone....meet Steve =)

Hello, I would firstly like to introduce myself, i'm Sam and i'm from near London, England. Last week I got my first my chameleon after lots and lots of research, and a lot of trolling through this amazing forum. My chameleon is roughly 2 years old, I got him from one of my close mates who was moving house and wasn't allowed pets in his new property, so I decided to take him as i've always been interested by these beautiful creatures.

The chameleon I have is called Steve (not named by me, but isn't the worst of names!) He came in a 1.5x1.5x3ft mesh viv, from reading from various sources I decided to upgrade his vivarium and got him the zoo med 2x2x4ft mesh viv. I currently have a 5.0uvb bulb, 75w basking (had to go higher then 60w as the basking temp couldn't get above 75 for some reason, it's now a steady 85 for his basking, average temp around the viv is 74. I have a dripper on the top of his cage and I mist him 2/3times a day and his humidity is at 60% but rises very quickly when misted. I have 4 artificial vines, yukka & a schefflera plant, there's also some bamboo canes across his viv that I fixed with some drawing pins (thanks to the tips from this site again!).

He's been fine with me since I got him, my friend was really surprised because on his first day at mine he walked up fast towards to my hand and then crawled up my arm and perched himself on my shoulder =) He's been eating very well so far, I have him on a mixture of brown & black crickets plus some hoppers (he takes a fancy to the hoppers and ALWAYS eat these direct from my hand before I have any chance to put into his enclosure!) I will be getting him some meal worms as a treat, my friend only previously fed him crickets but I want him to have variety and a better balance diet. I have gone out and got repitive with d3 and without, I have also got him a daily calcium dust.

Any way that's enough of me rambling on, I just wanted to introduce myself and give you a little info on my little fella =) I have attached a photo of him, if anyone could tell me of his locale that would be great, my friend didn't realise there was more then one type of panther cham!

I will post a picture of his set up tomorrow, his lights have gone off now and I don't want to startle/wake him with the flash

He has quite a few of the red dots dotted around his body, mainly on his legs and feet, i'll post plenty of pics tomorrow once his lights are back on =)

Thanks for the comments =) I will post plenty of new pics of him and his enclosure once i'm back from work. Had a couple of hoppers before I set off this morning, then did notice him doing something a little strange (well i've not seen him do it before) he was hanging upside down from one of the vines, he seemed more then happy, no puffing or anything, is this behaviour normal? Just thought i'd ask as i'm new to these guys =)

Ok so I got home and he seemed fine, was scooting about in his viv when I got back =) Fed him a couple of crickets which he took straight from my hand. I did manage to get a picture of him upside down earlier which i've attached, i've not seen him since doing this but still wanted to check if this behaviour was normal or is there something I should be looking out for? I have also attached a photo of his viv set up as that was asked for earlier in the thread =)
