HELP --- She won't dig!

My veileds really love their mustard greens and or kale. I know that when I bred Layla she acted this way a couple days before laying. I put a blocker up around her cage for privacy like those liners for tool boxes and kitchen drawers. I gave her about 20 crickets. She didn't eat them until after she laid. But she knew they were there if she wanted them. A lot of people say to never leave crickets in a chams cage for more than a couple hours but you can't always believe everything you hear on the Internet. Just like with humans every Cham is different! :) good luck and keep trying!

You need to be very careful with leaving crickets in cage especialy overnight. Adult crickets can and may bite and a sleeping cam will not feel it. It could result in a vets visit and antibiotics to treat abcesses.

thanks jane :D ....sticky did you follow my advice and put her back in her cage feed and hydrate her and place a laying bin in the bottom of her cage I definatly wouldnt leave her for 2 more days in that tank.

Yes she has been in her normal tank since yesterday and is going to the vets tonight. I will keep you updated!

P.S she drank loads and ate a cricket when I put her in.

here is her xray! vets went well. she is very healthy, and has around 22 eggs (according to the vet). I attached a picture.

Bigger selection of food, like spiders, flys, ect. Also to put her inthe laying tank until she lays, she is due to lay soon.

Thats good. While you are waiting it would be good if you could search the blogs about females laying so you are prepared. I don't keep females but I think you have been given lots of links during your threads. Good luck.:)

She was sick this morning, a gloopy mess of worms and cricket heads. She seems fine noe, maybe just a touch of morning sickness ;)

Yeah, I hope she does the deed soon. She drank the English Channel this morning (well, maybe not that much) and is still walking up and down her 2 twigs. The sand is moist. I will keep you updated!
