My veileds really love their mustard greens and or kale. I know that when I bred Layla she acted this way a couple days before laying. I put a blocker up around her cage for privacy like those liners for tool boxes and kitchen drawers. I gave her about 20 crickets. She didn't eat them until after she laid. But she knew they were there if she wanted them. A lot of people say to never leave crickets in a chams cage for more than a couple hours but you can't always believe everything you hear on the Internet. Just like with humans every Cham is different! good luck and keep trying!
You need to be very careful with leaving crickets in cage especialy overnight. Adult crickets can and may bite and a sleeping cam will not feel it. It could result in a vets visit and antibiotics to treat abcesses.
