That is the wording, they specifically say it's for SPAM protection (meaning they want a human to read the question and provide the answer).

The answer is, indeed, the incredibly obvious 5.

It was like.....25 or something stupid like that.

I had to Google the answer......which was inside the forums you had to be a member to get past to see... but luckily Google discovered it on my behalf.

Hahaha! He didn't really explain what it was for. I thought someone in a forum asked him a riddle.

In this case.. yes, the answer would be 5. I'm still laughing. People make things harder than they should be sometimes. Ohhh lord.

I entered the number 5. That was accepted....

I thought it was the obvious thing to try.

However, it took me through several tries on the "enter the characters in the image" thing because, apparently I have difficulty with the distinctions between stylized R's and stylized 8's.

Those things have gotten harder and harder over the years! I remember when they were so easy. You can't tell the difference between letters and numbers at all. The words don't even make since. Crap, some of them aren't even words. Those websites are just setting us up for failure. It makes me feel like a 90 year old who doesn't know how to work a computer.

If they have a "hearing impaired" option, take it...you will just hear the characters. It's so much more straightforward that way.

That's funny . The reason I asked was because I was given a similar riddle in high school that said If there are 10 eggs in a basket and ten people each take 1 egg how is one egg left in the basket? I remember about half got it right and our teacher said sometimes we tend to over think things when the answer is so obvious.
