Very cool blue for so young! Looks like a female to me though.

Thanks guys, I thought it was pretty crazy that these guys were showing colors at this young of an age, but he did also have a female from the same clutch which was all peachy like my ambilobe female.

I thought at this young of an age the ones that showed colors like blues would most likely be male?

How can you tell that she is female?

Thanks for the help.

I don't think Glorfindel has been around for a while, most likely grandfather.
I think you have an underdeveloped male at this point, but keep us posted.
Either way that is a fantastic bloodline and will be great no matter the sex.
I have some ambanjas out of that line.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing... Liddy Kammer told me Glorfindel was a WC Ambanja that was one of the Kammers original breeding stock I think she said around 8 years ago. I found this out when I called them to verify, cause someone was trying to sell me a Nosy Be that was apparently sired by Glorfindel:rolleyes:. I wanted to find out if they had even sold this guy a cham...They had great records and verified the Purchase and the Nosy Be sire. Chuck is right, could be Grandfathered...but if I were you I would follow up the the breeder. Regardless...You got one killer looking baby there. Is there a reason he sold her to you so young?

Hey guys, Yea that makes more sense if Glorfindal was his granddaddy, ha sorry for the confusion.

But anyways, "it" loves basking in the sun and turning out some colors.

The breeder sold him to me since i live only a few minutes away from him and we met through a mutual friend. He knew i was looking for an Ambanja so he hooked me up. :)

He told me he normally doesnt sell them that young of an age, so if you wanted to have one shipped to you I'm sure you would have to wait a few months. but anyways. "it" is freakin awesome!! :D I think im gonna call "it" booger... What do you guys think?

Oh, and he also left me a little present this morning, thanks little dude....

Hi Andrew,

Although she looks to even have some female color and pattern, I only use the anatomy of the tail for sexing babies. Colors can change. Anatomy doesn't. Some females just have a lot of blue, check out this one:

Thanks for the replies everyone :)

dodolah: Are you getting him from Lance? hes a real standup guy. Glad to do business with him. I have a pic of the dad, I'll try to dig it up and send it to you.

Kent67: WOw! that is a gorgeous dame if i ever saw one. Is it because the base of the tail is alot thinner? Even when their youngsters can you see a bit of a hemepenal bulge? Thanks for that pic. Weather or not it is a he or she im sure pairing it with the right mate would still make some stunning offspring, I'll be sure to keep everyone posted. And thanks alot for the tip!
