Housing Jackson and veiled

So I have had my male and my female housed together since I have had them and they r fine, my local petstore has 2 adult male panther chameleons housed together and they r fine, I'm getting a Jackson sometime this week and I'm gonna put I'm with my male and female, my lizards r healthy and aren't stressed and they r not like what everyone says that they r so
I'm gonna try it out and see

How old are the pair you have now? These different chameleons have very different care requirements, Jacksons like it cool and wet while veileds need warmer and less humidity.

The pair you have now is already stressed by being together, you may not be able to tell but they are, the pet stores house them together as a temporary means to sell animals. They are usually grouped in display cages not even meeting the basic needs of the animal, not a viable long term housing situation.

Please do not do this. You'll end up with 3 stressed, sick animals trying to house these all together.

If you decide to go against what experts on this site and the hobby say, go ahead and deal with the consequences of ill chameleons. It is a fact that they do not like to be housed together. You're just assuming that they are fine because you don't physically see anything wrong. Look at chameleons in nature. They aren't in groups, and don't like any kind of interaction. Don't try to change their nature; they're reptiles and will never get along with each other.
And yeah, housing two different species is a recipe for disaster. They live in completely different parts of the world. Google the weather in Kenya/Tanzania and then the weather in the Arabian Peninsula.

Do you want to wait until they fight and you end up with a potential vet bill? That's up to you, we aren't making this stuff up, if chameleons did well in groups most of us on the forum would love to have more chameleons without adding more caging, lighting, and misting expenses however that's not the nature of the chameleon. This is an animal that's a solitary predator from birth, only getting close to another one to mate or establish dominance in the wild.

Your other post you mention the female may be gravid, even more reason to separate. She needs less stress and an enhanced diet to keep her bones healthy while all those eggs are sucking up calcium. Since she was with a male very high chance the eggs will be fertile and you'll have babies before you know it... Jumping right into the deep end for someone who has only had chameleons for a month or so.

What a ridiculously terrible post. Your chameleons are not "fine" no matter how many times you type the word. Jacksons and Veileds have completely different environmental needs. This is stupid and irresponsible.

You are killing your female by trapping her in a cage with the male. You will kill your Jacksons, too. Save your money and don't freaking buy another chameleon.

So you kinda make a topic to tell us you're keeping chams in a way that we won't approve of and that you're going to do it even while you know it's a dumb thing to do...

Don't be a smartass and think that because they live they will also have a good life...

How long have your chams been together? A month? A year? Hatchlings can be housed together for while, adults not very often. Even if you are incredibly lucky enough to have two veileds who are somewhat compatible, the more important inconvenient fact remains that a jackson's will not survive in the same temperature and humidity conditions your veiled or panthers do. The jackson's will eventually become dehydrated, suffer hard sheds and eye problems, may develop intestinal problems, stop eating, and die. They also need different amounts of supplement dusts than panthers and veileds do, so unless you make sure the jackson's gets different feeders, it will end up with vitamin overdoses. Jackson's have very different personalities than veileds or panthers do, so it will probably end up hiding low down in the cage, not getting the proper food, water, or exposure to UV light. It will be doomed. Doing this will be cruel. RIP poor little jax.

Please dont try that out. If you want another chameleon first get another cage to seperate the two you have. THEN think about another one. Chameleons arent just toys or somthing to spend your money on, they all need diffrent care and needs and keeping them sperate helps you achieve that much better.
