How do you guys handfeed crickets?

Do you guys use tongs to hand feed them or should I use something else to hand fees? I only have crickets and I want to start learning how to hand feed.

I haven't been able to hand feed crickets (my hands aren't very steady, darn RODP) , but I have done horned worms by hand. Took a few weeks for the chameleons to be comfortable enough to eat those from my hand.

Just hold the back leg. But they do brake off sometimes. But not always. Or break both back legs off and let it crawl around in your hand.

feeding

It's 50 - 50 for me. Sometimes I can feed them from the palm of my hand if they are fast and the crickets don't jump, other times I use the tongs.

First you start by building the trust of the cricket (this could take weeks), then offer a small chunk of the crickets favorite food (most seem to like greens, oranges etc.) Just be aware each cricket is very individual and some may never come around to hand feeding.....

I don't hand feed my crickets but I do one of my chameleons (the other one is too shy). I simply offer the cricket (or any worm except super worms) between my thumb and index finger (some times twirling it can help peeking their interest in eating), for supers I use tongs because I hear they bite and they wiggle to much.

I use deep deli cups to collect and dust my crickets. If I am literally hand feeding, i grab a cricket by the rear leg and let it twitch and offer it up to my chameleons... or i just offer the cup to the chameleon to shoot what he/she wants. I then obviously take the cup away so they don't over eat :)

I haven't been successful yet with crickets but worms are another story. I don't like to try hand feeding superworms cause they move really fast and kinda spaz out when you hold them BUT silkworms are another story! My guy practically runs to me when I have those!
