Well I walked down the street to just look around and the kid I let go who I swear on my own life(not others cause I could be wrong) is in on it. His dad is a police officer, UNREAL.
You should come to my country, all the police is corrupt!!! as well as their kids!!!!! Long live South Africa, THE KING OF F@#KING CORRUPTION!!!! We just recently got a new president, i really need not say more

In total cages that I have to completly rebuild just unrepairable 7 the other remaing cages i have replaced the screens in them already.
Im in for aliitle break time. Thanks for all the great ideas but no violence here. I just cant do it, its not in my heart. Sometimes I wish it was. Now if this would of happened a year ago before I settled down, and started my family this kids parents would of been filing for missings person case. Alot can happen in a year.
Any how stroke of good news all we are missing are the babies and 2 adults. the rest were recoverd with the help just now of our 90lbs red nose pitbull who just walked in the house with an unharmed veiled in his mouth. Crazy cause he kills anything and everything insight. Including trying to bute people not freindly. LOL

all i would know is i would be so pissed off. i love my chams so much and if anything like that ever happened i wouldnt stop until someone faced the charges of doing that. parents shouldn't let their kids wander around aimlessly creating havoc! I would have grabbed that kid and said take me to your parents NOW! i would have talked to them and had the kid rat out every other little snot, and told the parents whats going to happen!!!
i do hope you manage to find a good deal of them. they kids would have broke and entered if you gate was closed, and caused damages thats quite a nice record to start off with im pretty sure those parents would do a lot to keep that from becoming legal.

I'm so sorry this had to happen to you. Kids around here are just as bad, perhaps you should set up security cameras, that way if it happens again you will have evidence and the kids will have to pay you back for this time and the next time (hopefully there isn't a next time).

and i have to comment on this. dogs can really read people sometimes. i had lost my wallet for about 3 days and i was starting to fear for the worst i asked proto (my dog) where is my wallet proto? he ran off only 20seconds later to come and drop it at my feet. i was so happy someone didnt steal it

Yes job well done for our pitbull (gotti) Idk its so strange cause I have left him in the yard one time and he destroyed cages and ate a chameleon. Now hes out there and he brings me one. IDK strange but im grateful.

Did you talked to the kid's father, the one who is a cop?
I bet if you did what Amanda said in post #3 you'd get some feedback from parents in the area.

im 14 years old and live an hour from the city.....i would never do this...if my parents caught me stealling or in other ppl's back yard...id first get a half an hour lecture then to my room and hard labor outside...foe like a week or two.
these kids...if they were btewwen the age of 13 and 17 probably were riding their bikes by and saw a lot of wird looking animals in your backyard....then one said hey guys those are chameleons....well a quike google search lead to tha fact that they sell for over a thousand dollars.....they see it as a get rich quick sqeem...those slim balls.....but glad to see ur finding them....bt legal action sounds best.

This reminds me of a story i read a while back about some young vandals who hopped a fence and decided it would be fun to stab holes through a large male sulcata's shell this was the families beloved pet and they left it for dead in their yard they were brought to justice and the spur thigh did manage to make a full recovery . Its a real shame what happened to you i hope the ones responsible are caught.

I truly hope that you can recover as much as possible from this offensive behavior.
As for your pitbull's rescue (which sounds amazing by the way), I have a feeling that you taught your dog something that it was not OK for to eat them after the first incident.
Again, hopefully the criminals will be brought to justice. They need a chance to learn from their big mistake.

Sometimes you just feel like killing the little monsters! I know I would, however much like you I can't hurt anything or anyone. Anyway All I can do is offer that I will give you 4 of my baby veileds. More if you need them..They are about 6 or 7 weeks old. If you want them they are yours. They are just regular sunburst veileds but I would be happy to help. I only had babies cause I wanted to raise babies. Not sure it would be worth selling them & shipping from Montana. Or even if I want to sell the little critters. I am very sorry this happened to you.

When kids do things that are soically and morally unaccaptable, you are obliged to follow wiht a hardassed response. I'm not talking illegal or violent response - just ruthless.
You MUST find this kid. Talk to his father, show him the evidence. Explain that his son was the only oe NOT running away - this gives his son an "out". If the kid is trapped, he's got nowhere to go. If you give him an out, he will take it. He will rat on the othe rkids so fast... and you just know the plastic bins the kids have are full of all your baby chameleons. Once you have thier names, you will get them back. And probably damages for the cages too.
Plus, they might learn something - but PLEASE talk to the kids father. If not for your animals, but for the future of thise little slimebags!

Well just to give you guys alittle insight. I live in a gated community and we have an association. Long story short in my association rules we are not allowed to have exotic animals, pitbulls and a certain number of animals. I already have had a letter sent to my home because someone said I was running a business out of my house, because UPS was picking up everyday. So im alittle nervious right now to even say anything cause I cant deal with opening another can of worms.

I agree with you...I am a teacher and yes there are kids who make BAD choices don't get me wrong but don't put all kids down(you can’t blame the whole group for a few individuals actions)! This group of kids just wasn’t taught to respect other people property and belongs as well as living things! This truly disheartens me and I hope that Veiled Guy finds most of his veiled and the kids responsible for this so that they can take responsibility for their bad choices!

Were these kids from within your gated ghetto? or just the neighbourhood?
A few sensor lights, a hidden camera or two hooked to video might well pay for itself.
Rivalry among kids, especially boys, means now that these kids have bragged about it (no doubt) some other kid/s will want to best them.
It wont be a bank they rob to do that because they know your house is an easy target, afterall little jhonny did it. Id be expecting another visit.
Statistically once your a B & E target, you can expect it to happen again.
Looks like between a rock and a hard place now that your residency might be in question over the animals/ups pickups. You hardly need to get evicted.
Its just so unfair that I can share your anger a bit, Your doing what you love, its not illegal, your not hurting anybody, and the other people who live in the community wouldnt have had a clue about the chams till now, but now they might get you evicted
or force you to give up your hobby just because the stupid community regulations says so. All this because some brat and mates wanted to feel tough or/and make an easy buck.
Sounds to me any benifit by living in such a paranoid ghetto is superseded by the lack of fairness and decency of those who would have you evicted for breeding/selling chams.
Some folk have too much time on their hands, its not like your selling crack cocain or saturday night specials from the garage!
I hope they wakeup and things resolve for you there, if not, its probly time to move if at all possible. Security is great but not at the cost of freedom and happiness!
