How to connect fake vines/furnishings?

Nice set up Drew!!! :)
Yeah, I see what you mean with the dowels etc, it gives you the option to position vines to any height in the cage. I guess the beauty in that is, when your cham grows you can lower the vines under the basking light so it's not all "hunched" up under the light whilst trying to thermoregulate. (my chams still growing, so this is relevant to my situation)
Cool idea, I may even try to tame some sort of "live" vine to grow around it, to camoflague it!.
I will post some pics of the new enclosure when I get it, so you guys can appraise the handywork and have some input before it's actually completed.
Cheers again everyone for your individual input....:D

My boyfriend puts our cages together and he doesn't tie anything. He has this way of wedging everything in there strategically around our plant so that most of the sticks are held up by the big sticks that are wedged in really well. Then he pulls on everything to test stuctural integrity and wraps fake vines around everything. When we take all the critters out for showers and stuff he will usually move their stuff around to give them a change of scenery.

yes i made the wood cage and i use the same theory for the vines, i have a 1"x1" square on the 2 sides and rear to zip tie too. and no it is not a big deal,
1. predrill a hole in the top frame on al 3 sides, pre drill into the dowel, hold dowel and screw, then screw dowel at bottom with 1/2" pan head sheetmetal screw, it takes like 3o seconds for each dowel and there is no damage to the cage. i can 'renovate' the cage whenever i want.

Yeah, i'm going to incorporate something similar as I don't want to penetrate the screen, as mentioned before, it will eventually increase in size over time....
Anyone else have any other good ideas for attaching your furnishings?
Cheers
Scott
