I adopted a Veiled, help with a few questions!

well that stinks. yeah hopefully you wont have to wait to much longer for your little one. im ready to see him too :)

I just got an e-mail back from FedEx. They said that dispatch will have the truck rerout to deliver the Cham.

My company has a $200k account with Fedex that i have 100% say in. See what mentioning a possible bad experience and a switch to the Guys in Brown will do. lol (And i would do it too. UPS has been giving me better rates. It would just be extra work to revamp the system)

Hopefully soon my Cham will be here.

ut oh!! they dont know who they are messing with then lol hey better give you some REALLY good deal or something.. are you going to ask him what happened when he gets there??? i would i would be like you trying to steal my chameleon?! haha yeah hopefully he will be there within the next 30 mins.

3:15pm and still no Cham...Fedex requested my contact # so they can give to the driver to call me with his location (so i can intercept).
I did some snooping with my FedEx rep and it seems the Cham didn't leave the FedEx depot untill 12:45pm (all the while they were telling me and states online that it was "out for delivery" at 9:37am.)

This is one hell of a journey for a young Cham.. I think i'll name him Chance!

wow.. that is crazy... yeah i always track mine like every hour just to see what is up. im so nervous when i ship reptiles. i always think about the worse but i think next time i want one im just going to make a road trip out of it and go pick him up at least i know he will be safe and sound with me. and i LOVE chance thats a really good name especially in the situation your in right now lol

One piece of advice though, since he's had such a long trip, let him be in his cage for the next few days.. not handling him or anything..let him rest

Yea, He was a little cold to the touch. He went straight in the tank and under the light. It's 76* directly below the light.

Ahhh yea, it's been a crazy day. But it's all over and done with and all is well. It was in the 60s and raining. It's in the mid 50s and still raining now.
Jon, I'd raise up the temperature a bit. 76 is a bit on the cold side for basking. Try to get it into the low 80's

Will do. He drank a little today when I misted. Ill try to offer him some crickets tomorrow. They are getting fattened up on bug burger at the moment.

Thanks. I sorta feel like the tank is a little too big for him. I didn't bank on him being this small.

Any tips on how to approach feeding him? I would reallylike to have himcup feeding. But i just want himeating period.

Nah man, hahah, thats not big. I have mine in a 24x24x48" cage lol. I have crickets all over the place at all time..i've seen him eat so I know he's getting food.

What you can do is just get a plastic cup and put it in there with crickets. Also let some roam free that way if he doesnt realize that there is food in the cup, he wont starve.

Well feeding worries can be checked off my list (for now)
Sorry for the poor video quality and my bird screaming in the background. This is his first meal.

Dang , that is a big cage for a small Cham! Chance would be lost in something that large.

Well back on track. With all the baby-talk lately, i want to show Kamo some love!!

He shed today, and seems to have grown quite a bit since i had him.

few pix.
