lol, he nabbed up 3 in one shot. This one was the "lucky" one that didnt make it into his mouth. He crawled onto his head.

The cricket eventually walked down his back , he turned around and nom nom nom!

Well send him on over to my house.... I'm sure I could use him to catch some of the 1000 crickets I accidently let out in my house yesterday! :D

just a quick question i was looking at your pics and it almost looks like your cage is made of glass not screened? or is that just the way it comes up in the pictures? if it is glass isn't that dangerous? or is it different for veils then panthers?

From what I've read and found, Europeans have been using glass terrariums for a long time, there's a negative stigma around their use in the US. Colder areas have good success with glass because it's easier to maintain temperature/humidity. As this guy is less than a year old it's probably fine to be in the glass, so long as the owner is being really attentive to humidity/ not letting it stay too wet by letting it dry out between mists should be fine. I'd be more concerned about him being too small for the enclosure, he's getting closer to needing his adult cage.

And whoa! Suddenly there are 25 pages on this thread, I posted that last reply because my browser was telling me page 11 was the last page... Looks like you've now got 2 chams? And moved him into a bigger enclosure! Haha, I feel like I just time traveled!

^^ correct! I love the Glass enclosured. Its great to keep your paramters stable. I wish it didnt cost an arm and a leg for one appropriate for an adult Veiled or Panther.

Just read all 25 pages lol, pretty cool to follow someone's chameleon experience from first adoption to owner of three! As far as the dermestid beetles, they're safe to feed, my only concern is that they generally feed on dead material. If you have them on a different diet and it's working let me know though, because I'd love to use them myself, I have free access to the dermestid beetle colony at westconn lol, my id card gets me in like every door in the science building :D and Dr. Pinou, our resident herpetologist said to help myself lol

Lol, Thanks. It has gotten out of hand reall fast. But i love it! I feel like all this is 2nd nature for me.

I have not observed the adult beetles eating anything. But the larva do feed with the crickets on the Bug Burger. But they mostly feed on crickets that have died.

So due to the fact that i can't controle what they are eating. I will only offer them as "treats" on occasion. My little Ambanja loves the Beetles. They fly , so i guess it stimulates him to hunt.

Hmm, its interesting that they feed on the bug burger... I think I'm going to do an experiment and see if I can get them feeding and breeding on any other gutload. Welp, found my project for the day, besides finishing my homemade cham and bearded dragon enclosures! Lol, updates to come if my mission is successful. To the science building!! Lol

To the science building........

PS: You going to the Expo this weekend?

Probably, I need to pick up dubias to start a colony, and see if they have any tasty worms...and who knows...I might end up with another chameleon! Lol

I need crickets baddd. I down to about 10 of them. I don't want to feed off any more Dubias.

I'll be picking up about 5000 crickets. Some for me and some for friends. And maybe some Adult B.Dubias to beef up my colony.

That gold-digger lol... pissed off and didnt want anything to do with you.. but as soon as he saw that you had something good, calmed down..hahaha

Beetles** They are Beetles!!

And Kamo hasn't been as willing to be handled safely since i upgraded him to his bigboy cage. Maybe he is jealous of the babies! lol

Today is a Sad day for me .

I have started planing out a breeding project for my Ambliobe "Chance". After it's all said and done i will not have much room in my apartment for too many large Cages.

I will be looking to re-home Kamo my 10 month old Veiled for FREE to someone that will provide him a good happy home in the NYC,NJ,CT area.

I have a friend that will possibly take him in, and i know he will take good cage of him.

If all else fails , i will find room to keep him. But it would make things a lot easier.:(
