I'm so happy I'm crying, my boy has eaten on his own, 2 wax worms and a cricket, for the first time since Christmas day........he is trying to use the tiny piece of tongue left, but he can't stab the pray, so he just opened his mouth and picked them up, still had a little trouble eating them but he stayed with it and got them down...I'm very, very happy for my boy!!....he still has away to go to be able to eat out of a cup or hand, but he has made this happy stride today!!

That is great! Maybe I missed the story, but what happened to his tongue?
He burned it on a light bulb Christmas day and has been losing piece by piece each day.

Yay!! That is so awesome!! He's such a tough boy!!!
Thank you, he is a tough little guy for sure!

Well done. Success is rare when these critters get hurt or sick.
Thank you......I have prayed and prayed for this and so have so many on this forum, these prayers came through!

oh my gosh, I am so sorry to hear that. I have never heard of that happening. Do you have the bulbs inside the cage instead of on top or something?

This is great news, although on the list of threads I only saw "cant stop crying" by you and my heart skipped a beat. I was quickly relieved to see they were tears of joy :D

Wow! Even better news!!
It is, thank you!

He was free ranging and climbed up on one of the lamps in the living room.....they are all screen covered now.

Thank you......Maybe should have made that a little less dramatic, but I was soooo very happy!

That's so exciting!! Yay Picasso! I suspect he'll end up having to eat like my veiled George does. Now that he's figured out he can eat somehow I bet you'll see improvement at a faster rate now!

Wonderful to read the success stories! Is it just my imagination or have there been lots of tears the last few days? I/m not always so active on here

Thank you....It has been very stressful on us and Picasso and a few tears have run down my cheek.

How exciting!!! What wonderful news!!!!:D
Thank you!

That sucks im sorry to hear that I to missed how he was hurt......how im the world did he burn it on the light ? where is the fixture at in your cage?

is it hanging inside the cage or resting on the screen top outside of his cage ?

WOW, that is fantastic news!! I needed to see this as I have been following your story of Picasso's burnt tongue and wondered how he would deal with the loss of it. THEN...I heard about Fenix's passing and was really feeling sad. I am so very happy Picasso has found a way to overcome his injury and learn to feed successfully! I have a smile ony face now! :) Congratulations on your care of the little guy - he's lucky to have such a loving Mom!
