I got vaccinated!

They've already started distributing the vaccine pretty much as soon as they got approval to do so, but it does seem that they are prioritizing some groups to go first (like healthcare workers, high-risk individuals etc). It will be interesting to see how long it takes for them to make enough for everyone though (consider manufacturing limits, and distribution/shipping challenges in addition to the sheer number of people that need access to it around the world). Major shippers already announced that they are prioritizing the vaccine over holiday gifts/ priority mail. Also fortunately, there's a few different companies manufacturing their vaccines, so at least that's not as much of a supply bottleneck as it could be. Herculean effort for sure without a doubt.
I’m encouraged by the efforts being made. The thing that worries me about getting it done is getting to 70-80% coverage. We’re talking hundreds of millions of doses x 2. That’s an enormous amount. Even At 20,000,000 per month, that’s next fall before we get there.

that's a lot of zeros.

I wonder what the metrics are for doses/day for the flu vaccine usually... and I wonder how this will compare to that 🤔

I shall live bioactively, and necas will supply me with a fogger for water. Damn any of you that think about misting me and lowering my lifespan by 7 million years

Lyme was much more painful than I anticipated with the severe nerve pain. Thought it was covid at first because I had a 105 fever for days.
oof... that's rough. Also if left untreated/undiagnosed for a long time... it can get real bad. we know a lot more about it than we used to, but I think there is still much to learn & understand.

Geesh @jamest0o0 ...that's unreal.

I got pneumonia and a kidney stone and another infection all at the same time this summer and passed out on the floor. I didn't know anything was wrong with me until then. Luckily my friend surprised me with a visit and called 911. I ended up in hospital for 5 weeks...but at least they tested me for covid and I didn't have it...and I didn't catch it in the hospital either! :)

OMG ....I can't believe that so many of you have had it more than once or had it at al for that matter. Wow....(so far) I'm so glad I'm in Canada! Our numbers are going up now though. I heard that the new mutation in England is much more contagious...and that scares me too.

Have only seen my grandkids once since March...used to see them every second week...and the look on my 8 year old granddaughter's face when she couldn't have a hug was so sad it broke my heart. Have only seen my kids maybe 4 times to get groceries and such....all social distancing, etc.

So sick of it all. At least I have squirrels and birds in my yard to entertain me as well as skunks, possums, raccoons, chipmunks, etc in the warmer weather.

Stay safe, social distance, wear your masks, wash your hands...(so tired of hearing that...but still doing it)! I hope this is over soon and that the vaccinations don't have any serious side effects.
@DocZ I hope yours is good!
The disconnection from friends and family is really hard. We kept our kids out of school and they’ve been able to see their grandparents. We’ve kept my parents in our “bubble” even though that’s not the safest option

I need the Canadian border to open so I can visit this summer. Our family fishing trip was cancelled this year and we postponed to summer 2021. And a friend and I go up every year to fish as well. I miss Canada 🇨🇦

I hope these vaccines work too. I haven’t heard any issues from anyone I know that’s gotten it. My hospital started administering it last week

My goodness! That’s pretty scary. It’s lucky your friend stopped by to see you. Stay safe and healthy

I have somewhat enjoyed my built in excuse for not attending things as well 😊
Yeah I have ppl telling me to come over all the time and I’m like no my chameleons and the virus lol my family jokes I got the chameleons so I have an excuse to never leave my house again
Seriously! I don't get colds at least haha

Isn't it horrible?! NOTHING helped it. I couldn't sleep, I was falling into madness.
oh yeah it’s the worse, my hands and feet were so itchy, then you can’t even eat if the sores are in your mouth (witch I happened to have as well). You just need to wait for it to pass, it’s horrible. I remember when the outbreak happened they told us not to worry because adults don’t get it 🙄 LIES!!!!!

I was so lucky she stopped by. I was so weak when I woke up after passing out, I couldn't even get up off the floor. Apparently I was dehydrated as well and hallucinating. Never had anything like that ever happen to me before. I couldn't believe it.

What fish do you fish for?
