I need help

I took my veaild chameleon out to bask in the sun for 30 minutes then I noticed he was bleeding. I thought it was gout before but I am bored about this. And if it is an emergency to take him to the vet if so what is the price range.

Oh no!! Poor guy :( Did he maybe poke himself on something, or get a bite from a bug? Where was he bleeding? It's hard to determine the cost of a vet visit, especially with exotics. It can also vary from vet to vet. @kinyonga can you maybe help with this? Sending warm hugs and best wishes to you both!! 🦎💕

I can’t give you a cost for treatment…but…

You need to see a good reptile/chameleon vet. It looks infected. It will need to be completely cleaned out and flushed. Then, to find out what bacteria it is and put the chameleon on the correct/best antibiotic, the vet will have to run a culture and sensitivity test. Be careful not to cross contaminate by handling other critters after this one, etc.

How old is your chameleon?

He turned a year old in January

I would get to the vet asap. Infections in the foot often involve the bacteria Pseudomonas aeruginosa and it’s a thought one to get rid of.

I have this it fights of infections and helps with cuts and bites should I bother with this

Sorry…I don’t know anything about that. I’ve never used it.
I would talk to the vet about it first in case it interferes with the testing for bacteria and leading to incorrect information in testing.
