I think I might have found Simba's girlfriend!!!

She's at the pet shop where I get Simba's locusts from.

She's just stunning.

Worried that the woman in the shop didn't know much about her though. Said she was brought in at just a few months old about 2-3 weeks ago (hard to believe looking at the size and plumpness of her!) And she doesn't know what locale she is!!

Any ideas on age/locale??

Going to get Simba sorted before I even think of getting him a girlfriend but I just think she's beautiful!! xx

why do you think it is a girl? The coloring looks to be that of a male to me. Would have to see the vent area to be certain though. and how you can you be certain of the age also? looks older than 2 to 3 months.

No bulge by the vent and is an orangey brown/gray colour most of the time. I'd expect to see much more colour in a cham of that size if it was a male.

The only change I've seen is the darkening of the little 'bars' right at the spine.

Any ideas on locale?

that's what i was refering to on the age. Judging by size it has to be much older I'd say, but I'm no expert!!!

Maybe Simba is a small cham??? He's 14months old and is probably an inch smaller and definately not as plump!!

so you are saying that this cham is supposed to be 3 months old and is bigger than your 14 month old? Does not make sense!! They are wrong on the age. I wish I could see something to compare the size of that chameleon with.

Yes that's right, they said it was a few months old but did not specify. I'd say he/she is about 8" long with the tail, and like I say really plump looking.

I'm worried that as Simba is not as big/plump as that I was underfeeding, eventhough I was advised on here to feed every other day as he was leaving feeders when fed avery day at about 10 months old. I therefore am now feeding him daily again.

well pics can be deceiving that is for sure! Alot of times though the stores are incorrect on the age. Sometimes the males don't have a total bulge either. It can be tricky. The coloriing can be tricky at the age also, but I still think it is way older than 3 months!!!

really confusing!!! I know!!!!

A nice looking cham anyway.

Hopefully I'll get Simba sorted at the vets on Friday and back to health.

Do you have any idea on the causes of his swollen eyes? (separate thread : HELP! Eye problem with Simba)

I sure don't but I have seen the same thing on here before and not sure what the outcome was. Member Ace had a problem with his chameleon that looks very similar to yours. Maybe I told you that already from the other thread or someone else last week that was having the same thing going on with their chameleon. Try sending him a pm and ask him what he was diagnosed with.
