I am not new t o the chameleon world, though I will soon be new to keeping a panther. I have waited so long for this and am finally ready. I just cant decide which locale id like. im thinking ambilobe, but have seen some gorgeous sambavas and ambanjas. its a tough deciaion :-\ anyone regret or wish they had chosen differently?

I second what Sandra said ^ I, personally have 3 Ambilobe, but plan on expanding on that over the years with other locales and such. Whatever you decide, you won't regret it :)

An ambilobe is what my baby male Panther is. I excited to see what color he will grow out to be.

if you're buying from a dedicated reptile shop go for the one that looks the Healthiest on the day, I went for a male Ambilobe and came back with a Female veiled, she looked cuter and seemed to have more character :)

We thought we were buying an ambanja, and he turned out to be a sambava. But the key is that he is super friendly and has a great personality, so we dont care what color he is. The only regret I have is that if I would have known he was going to be green, red and yellow, I would have named him Bob instead of George.

They are all really beautiful locales. I personally LOVE reds/yellows/oranges and the darker/black bars that sambavas can have. Plus, some lines even show a bit of blue in the bars now (particularly the kammers lines.) AND sambavas are known for being a bigger locale so you could end up with a very impressive sized male (or female!) However, if you want one that might be more of a rainbow I would go with an ambilobe. There are tons of lines that have all sorts of color schemes. To me, it seems ambanjas tend to have more pastel/lighter colors, but some of them just explode with all colors of the rainbow.

Its a tough choice, and part of it will be what you like the best, which lines are available, how much you can/will spend, and how long you are willing to wait to get the "perfect" one. If you see/feel like you like a particular line/animal (or the parents if they are still babies) then go for it! You wont regret your decision.

thank you all for your quick feedback! I know i wouldnt regret any decision on a new addition. Hoping to acquire a baby boy from kammers ambilobe red lion sire :)

That is a perfect choice! My Sinister is one of Red Lion's sons. I guarantee you will not be disappointed at all with both the chameleon and the Kammer Family, they are both excellent breeders and amazing people!

ive heard and seen great things for them! im excited to be a kammer daddy :)

Krammers are the very best. You will get a healthy cham that is sure to be beautiful. They also provide the help to make sure it stays healthy.

Im in search of a ambanja male. Lol I have a beautiful ambanja cross that I would love to breed. No telling the color combos with her.

i am in that excitement of getting things rolling stage and hope to make the order by next week! i am giddy as a 12 year old girl. (im a 25 year old dude lol) i know kammers is the one to go with now :)

I'm with Sandra on this one. I just about feel off my stool as I'm sitting here at my kitchen counter as I read this. I'm all serious reading everyone's comments (cause I'm currently in a similar situation as rionjames), and BOOM!!!!! only regret was Bob vs. George. bbbbbbwwwwwwaaaaaa hhhhhaaaaa hhhhhhaaaaa!!!!!

btw, i'm leaning towards a Nosy Be boy.

I have a mixed female that's ambanja and faly and a faly male, both babies. Its been very interesting watching them grow even though though they're still really young :) I would love to have something hi yellow and red with some blue :)
