I have looked at how to sex panthers and this worries me a little. Can someone say whether this is a male or female? Bc I paid for a male and I'm a little worried it is not what I got. I need certainty right now and not just guesses. Please only people with extensive knowledge in sexing panthers

I'm reading conflicting things. The how to sex panther thread in the breeding forum says only females have that bulge but everything else I'm reading says lack of bulge means female

Can you post another pic with it's tail straight out (without it being at an angle)? More of a shot at the actual tail then focused on the body.

Looks to be female to me though, how old is it?

I see a tinie little bulge, but I'm on my phone. I promise to double-check when I'm home again on my laptop.

And no, females never have a bulge. The sexing thread never says that, you may be confusing it with what we affectionately call the "Kent Vent," the little dip at the base of the tail where a bulge would be if it were male (but signals a female).

About 2 months old I think.

I guess I was confused by it saying males lack a hemipenal bulge. But all the females pictures in that thread looked to have that bulge

This is a much clearer picture. So much better than trying to look at it with the naked eye or a bad photo haha.
I think I see a little tiny bulge there. I am beginning to lean toward male

I was under the impression that males of this age lack a hemipenal bulge and they should have a little indent behind their vent where the hemipene will be once the cham is older. It kind of looks like my guy did when I first got him so I vote male.

Thank you!!! I want it to be male so bad. I think I see the tiniest bulge. I guess I won't know for sure for another month or so

I think HE is starting to show!! At least I hope that's what it is....Any panther baby experts out there care to chime in?

I think it's a male, not a particularly endowed one at this point, but there is a subtle bulge there. If this animal isn't eating enough, as the OP has remarked on other threads, it might be a bit before he fills out.

I sure hope that's what it is. Seems everyone else thinks differently ^

I see a bulge in the 3rd pic. I hate to go against Sang and Shauna because I highly respect them, but I'm saying male, with confidence.
