Here are pictures of the lanced elbow of my male veiled cham. I'm new at this and the pics aren't that great. So, this is a test.

Sometimes if there is an injury to a leg like that the chameleon will produce fibrous tissue in the leg and the swelling will never go down.

Did the chameleon have the gular edema when you got it?

Thank you Lynda! I learn something new all the time from you!!! You are a godsend to the forums!

Awe poor baby. Maybe it is just the pics but it looks like your cham has some gular edema?

You know, this poor little guy was one I posted about recently. I've only had him about two weeks. I ordered him from a breeder a pet store (which I frequent) suggested/uses. I bought the female I use to have there too.
He was just plain ugly when I picked him up. I was shocked, because when the woman at the pet store called me to say he'd arrived and I could come pick him up, she said, "Oh, and he's beautiful". She must be a tard! She's the one there that orders all the reptiles in the store and she told me she owns and loves reptiles (don't know what kind).
I don't think the breeder gave him good care at all! He had long, brown, skinny, spider-like legs. He was very stressed and dark brown in color with black & olive green markings. His cask is slightly bent and very thin/skinny. He almost never pooped. The next day when I decided to look at him closer I noticed a slightly swollen elbow, and it got much worse quickly, swelling spread down the leg/entire foot. It took four days before the vet specialist could see him and he had a bad infection. I didn't see a puncture so I don't know how it started, but the tip of his tail looks very chewed-on so he may have gotten in a fight. He has bred with a female before (so the breeder reports). I think I have him on the way to recovery, his color is nicer, I hydrate a lot, he's eating now and pooping (thank god), the swelling in the elbow has gone down a lot in the last 24-48 hours. It was on 1/13/2011 when I took him in to the vet.

I hope your little guy is on the way to being completely healthy again. Sounds like you are doing all the right stuff.
