Lennon’s new bioactive tank build

I would imagine! And being as how you had to twist to get yourself in there to try to do it lol.

lol ya and the branches in the way don’t help. I actually have a camping mattress on the floor so I could lay down in awkward positions to do the bottom part.

I am surprised you left the other door on though after breaking the left one  Feeling lucky huh? Did you find a replacement door yet?

lol ya I didn’t want to break it or the frame trying to take it off. I ended up ordering the one from amazon. Just recieved it last night. We are locked down again :cautious: so the glass places are closed.

Well I’m glad you found one at least! They are starting to lock us down again here too.

ya we have been locked down for a couple weeks now. Starting tomorrow there is a province wide lockdown. 14 days for northern part and 28 days for southern part. Which is crazy because most of the province doesn’t have any cases.

In Cali they are just fighting over everything. The right hand does not know what the left hand is doing lol.

Your next project try using this Deck Resurfacer paint, its super thick and fills gaps and cracks really good. This stuff worked great on my foam projects, its super tough while giving everything a rough rock texture.

This is the look after a slight touch of paint. Was going for a cave look.

That is so cool... What lives in this enclosure? Is the back right area like a water area?

Thanks Beman, my wife's Leucistic Ball Python lives in there and yes that is the bath tub that she uses as a toilet  in the corner. She also has a huge custom hide/cave that goes inside, but I don't want to flood Lennoncham's thread with pics.

Lennoncham, Your project is beautiful and I love watching people make custom enclousures. Keep it up (y).

It has been a long while since I have update this thread. The build has been kinda slow going but it’s coming along.

I got everything all painted and put a couple vines in.

for drainage I added a piece of pipe so I can siphon off the excess water. I glued some cork bark around the cap and painted it to look like a tree stump.

I have gotten the new door put on the tank and put the tank up on the stand. I also added the misting nozzles, lights and fans.

for plant lights I’m using a 36” Exo Terra hood and 4 of these Exo Terra tropical canopy led lights. For uvb I got a 36” sunblaster with a 35” t5 5.0 uvb bulb.

I have gotten the drainage layer and a bunch of substrate put in and have started adding plants. I’m going to get more today so there will be more pictures to follow.

Your work is impressive. I really like it. Thanks for sharing.

thanks. All the times I have rebuilt my frog and anole tanks have basically been practice for this. Even though this is a lot different and nicer then the tanks I have done so far.

Really high quality work here. I cant wait to see it with the plants.

thanks. Me too! I am just starting to gather supplies for melon and Cynthia’s tanks so there will be more build threads to come!

You are becoming a master of your craft. :)

Show me more @Lennoncham! I was thinking of you today when I started foaming around all of my branches and pots... thinking "what did I get myself into". I'll be channeling my inner lennoncham yogi when I have to start getting into weird positions to paint

well the planting has been going slow. I have to many projects on the go right now. But here it is so far.
