Lizzards as a feeder!!!!!

I dont feel anythings life is worth more or less. however i am truley attached to lizzards. iv seen many an animal die and im used to it to a certain degree(worked on a farm) and its never easy. but gosh i just love lizzards and it even harder to watch. they are so beautiful. but i totally understand everyones point of view. i didnt mean to upset anyone or anything. im sorry :(

I don't think I'd trust any live verterbrates honestly. Most pet shops only have dead ones which while more humane is probably less healthy, and live mice could have god knows what in them from a pet shop.

I'd sort of like to feed him something bigger in the future (Baby mouse or something) - Even if just once in his life, but I'll probably just stick to bigger insects. I don't feel it a great necessity to ever feed him a mouse, but I think it's unfair not to at times. They obviously jump to the chance to take stuff like that, I mean, the video the OP posted the Chameleon is clearly stimulated by the lizard and goes straight for it (Though the fact he posted it on youtube probably means he found it entertaining more than anything).

I'd also like to point out to the people saying Chameleons are perfectly fine on insects, yes they are, but it's the owners decision at the end of the day. They may feel it only fair to give them that added bit of variety. It isn't completely unhealthy, probably no less healthy than mealworms in moderation.
I never said anything about live vertebrates anyway. The pet shop I go to has always sold a variety of frozen food. It's illegal to feed live mice/rats/lizards/chicks in Great Britain anyway. There's plenty of truly great art up on Youtube, and plenty of other educational stuff too - who cares why it was posted?
It's the owners decision whether to provide a basking light too......so, anyway, I agree with you entirely.....

you didn't its just the way of life its not cruel or anything thats just how they are and to those saying insect feeding keep your cham healthy but what do you have to do gut load and dust your insect at every feeding. yes alot of chams have parasites out in the wild but alot do also here in captivity. they live long lives out in the wild with out their food being gut loaded or dusted and they thrive same as in florida were they were released its just a total balance of nutriten that they get from eating a wide variety of food so yes its ok to feed your big guys anole and gecko's as a madder of fact i need to run to the store and order some for my big guys today.

eh. Food is food.

I'm sure if all of a sudden we had to kill our own food, people would go crazy and refuse to do so, even if we are meant to eat meat. If it's good for you, it should be in your diet. If the occasional lizard is good for them, then why not? Feed F/T or freshly killed (humanely) if it bothers you that much.

I'd argue that a basking light is more of a necessity if you want the Chameleon to actually live happily :p

Mice etc. is just a supplementary meal for rare occasions. Though there are a lot of dead mice at my local reptile shop, so I'll probably never delve into that field. I'd rather all of my Chams food be alive really, and I just couldn't feed him a live mouse, I'd feel like an evil person.

Look lets all be honest... One reason we bought our chams was for the AWESOME way they eat... You lie if you say you didn't:D But the animal protein in these guys is much too high... Yea I love lizards too but I'm not above trying it because its cool to watch chams hunt for prey... But I won't do something that may cause an issue...

Not really. Many people dont used a basking lamp for females to keep them from laying. Plus that brings up the whole emotions/anthropomorphizing thing.
