Lost my baby ambilobe ! Due to lack of proper research totally my fault ! Due to husbandry !! I feel horrrible!! Please help me restart properly

It took me that long to get accepted I did try ! He was great to me but I’m a beginner so maybe the signs were unclear ! I had him 10 days ! The breeder is helping me allong properly and sending me a replacement even though it was definitely my fault
I’m into breeding Leo’s , but way different reptiles and I understand that ! I had to learn the hard way ! I’ll fill out the proper form this evening when I have a bit more time ! But I’m restarting and setting up so some stuff won’t. Apply

Why don't y'all just wait for the OP to respond and clarify. To me reading it makes it sound like he took those pics in a 24 hour period not that he had the cham for 24 hours. They even say dusted daily was their biggest mistake... Which common sense tells me that means that they had the cham for more then one day.
Yes had him 10 days it was within the 24 hours that I noticed the problem the pics were within 24 hours and yes it was d3 poisoning of sorts totally my fault !

I am glad that the breeder is offering to replace him. Most would not do that. Here is a great source for info on husbandry for you https://chameleonacademy.com/
He is even doing a free online class on Saturday on how to properly set up an enclosure.

Those supplements barely have more D3 than Repashy LoD (about 18kish to 22k IU/KG) as has been said.

Even @10 days, that cham did not die due to the supplements.

So you need to fill out the form, completely to figure out what's going on.

Overdose of D3, longterm will cause organ failure, but not in 10 days, not with the small amounts you gave.

If you dust with d3 everyday, your cham may end up with the same fate.
I got my guy when he was 2 months. I went without the t5ho for 7 months. I was still using the dual dome set up that came with the starter kit. As soon as someone saw the pics of my set up and immediately pointed that out. Next day i went and bought a t5ho. Best 100 dollars i have spent. I feel much better about that. I have come to realize these guys are alot to take care of and they have alot a needs so my opinion on chams if you cant afford to give them what they really need to survive and be with you for a long time you shouldn't own them. Its been a pleasure watching skippy grow and thrive and i feel alot better about joining this forum because everyone has been very helpful. I made mistakes on things i had purchased because i listened to the wrong people.

OP it is HIGHLY UNLIKELY that this cham died because of supplements...either an overdose OR a deficiency. Please, if you really want to find out what happened you need to look further into it. If you still have the cham and he hasn't been frozen, you could ask a vet to do a necropsy to rule out some of the more obvious things like respiratory infection, an intestinal blockage or rupture, hemorrhage, etc. There may have been some undetectable underlying health problem going on before he even arrived. Chams do die from unexpected health problems and accidents just like any other creature. It sounds like something sudden and traumatic, not the gradual decline due to a nutritional issue. Its nice that the breeder is willing to replace him. Better ones take unexpected problems into consideration...he wasn't in your care very long. One gentle comment I must make however. Please take it into consideration and in the spirit it is meant. You did buy a new species of animal you hadn't researched ahead of time. Not a great idea. Would advanced research and preparation have have prevented this? No way to know without digging into the cause of death more. I'm sorry you lost him.
