lump on cham help

I came home and saw my cham has a lump right above his leg he was perfectly normal they before for some reason i cant upload the picture. To show. I believe its an abcess from a couple threads and things ive been reading today. But, it wont know till tomorrow if thats the case. I have made an appiontment for my guy to see the vet. Can anyone with any similar experience help me or give me some insight on what the vet did and what type of medicine is given.
