Some of you guessed it, officially diagnosed with gout

Well you must remember pain is actually exhausting. Also medication can cause changes as well. When you watch her, watch what she gravitates to walking on. If she has a preference to a certain type of vines or branch. Then you can get more of the same and add it to her environment to see if it helps her move along better. I imagine it’s painful to grip and balance. The thickness of what she is on as well as its stability will be a factor. Also if she has a spot where she leans on something may tell you it offers her more safety. Be on the look out of where she hangs out and what she avoids so you can understand her needs and limitations with gout. Closing the eyes is kind of serious but you need to see if it occurs after movement or feeding and is from pain exhaustion or from another source. I would do this for a few days before rushing her to the vet. Also make sure she stays hydrated. It may be too painful for her to get water the way she always has so she isn’t filling her needs. They suffer in silence so it is so hard to pinpoint, but knowing her and her environment as well as you do I know you can figure it out. Try offering her water with a syringe and let it drip down over her mouth. If she licks at it continue doing it till she stops.

How’s she doing today? I have gout and arthritis in my fingers and it is very painful.
Today she’s doing a little better, the last few days were rough but she actually went out and basked this morning.
unfortunately I won’t be able to check on her for a few hours due to being in class. I’m hoping she is alert when I get back but the last two days she was very sluggish in the afternoons.

Thank you for the update! I hope she will still be alert when you get home. ❤️🙏
